For me, I think for the Quarter Finals, it would be Ash vs Cynthia and for the Semi-Finals, Ash vs Alain. Come to think of it, we see Infernape didn't use Blaze against Moltres. The ultimate Ash team: Pikachu Greninja Charizard Dragonite Lucario Sceptile I know people would trip about not including Infernape, but there’s already a fire type in charizard and fighting in lucario. Plus, infernape hasn’t been shown to go head to head or defeat a legendary Pokémon yet. Albeit, it didn’t use Blaze against moltres either but still. Now that Ash is in the master 8 I think it's about time that he should swapped his recent Pokemon on his team (Dragonite, Gengar, Lucario, Sirfetch and Dracovish) for his unevolved Pokemon left at Professor Oak's lab like Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Totodile, Corphish, Buziel, Gible, Snivy, Oshawott, Scraggy, and Rowlet(get rid of the everstone) to evolved at last just like Bayleef, Quilava, Pignite, Boldore, Paplitoad even though they should evolved to their final evolved form too. Because they deserved another chanced to evolved in the series since some of them didn't get that chance in the original Pokemon, Orange Island, Johto, Advanced, Diamond and Pearl, Black and White, XY and Sun and Moon Arc. Plus if Ash is planning to face Leon in the future episodes than he'll going to need build up his Pokemon team by going back to train his old Pokemon. Another reason why Ash should go back to train his old Pokemon because through Pokemon Black and White, XY, Sun and Moon and so far in Journey Series Ash never recall them back to his team when he first got ready to compete in the Unova, Kalos and Alola League. There is one time that he once did before back in Pokemon DP Sinnoh League Victors were Ash finally decided to recall some of his Pokemon and at the same episode his Cyndaquil finally evolved into Quilava which was the best part of that episode. If Ash ever do that again in the upcoming Pokemon Journey episodes I would like him to recall his Bayleaf, Quilava, Totodile, Gible and Pignite because it's about time they have finally evolved at last.

Pokémon I want to return 5. Heracross: the jhoto ace that got shafted and deserved way better 4. Glalie: late catch in hoenn, but showed his power once evolved in the league. For some reason ash then denied it in both the battle frontier and sinnoh league. We haven't seen it being used since the hoenn league basically. 3. Gliscor: haven't seen it battle since the sinnoh league. Has one of the brightest and biggest personalities of all of ashs pokemon which says a lot. 2: sceptile. See the video + my favorite ash Pokémon of all time. 1: palpitoad (evoled into seismitoad). I loved ashs palpitoad in bw. It had a lot of potential, it already knew hydro pump when caught which was portrayed as an elite-Pokémon move at the time. Despite that, it only appeared in 9 episodes, not getting the chance to leave a lasting impression. It evolving against Leon's seismitoad and beating it would be great. (honorable mentions to Swellow and incineroar)

Pokemon of Ash's that could return for the Masters 8 (my opinion - was not originally going to do this, because of an incident involving my reply on Infamous' video on the new movesets of Ash's Pokemon, but I decided to throw in my two cents just now). Kanto Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charizard (kinda obvious by now, it's for old school nostalgia) Kingler (saw it battle in the Kanto League and Whirl Cup, hasn't battled since then - it was supposed to in Sinnoh, but nope, Conway had to ruin it) Muk (it knows like 2 moves - good way to show that it has been training) Johto Totodile (Bayleef and Quilava had enough attention, so it makes sense for Totodile to return. If it evolves into Croconaw, all the better) Heracross (why not) Donphan (outside of Johto, it showed up in Battle Frontier and Sinnoh, so it needs some attention) Hoenn Sceptile (the master returneth) Swellow (not as iconic as Staraptor or Talonflame, but still memorable) Glalie (anyone want to see it learn another move like Torkoal did when it returned in Battle Frontier) Sinnoh Gliscor (simple, show off the fruits of its training) Gible (don't have it evolve into Garchomp, maybe have it battle and evolve into Gabite) Unova Pignite (best part of Ash's Unova team, in my opinion - especially with its backstory) Boldore (because it needs some more love and respect, especially after the battles against Roxie and Cameron) Kalos Goodra (also needs more respect, especially if Ash goes against Alain since it was Alain's Bisharp who did it dirty) Noivern (Jeez, what is it with Ash's late captures getting done dirty by the anime) Alola Incineroar (we got gypped by it evolving and not seeing battle afterwards, this way we can see what moves it knows ever since training with Kukui's Incineroar)

@@swiftieblinky007 I see. It would be Ash's 4th strongest pokemon with blaze boosted Z-move. Since professor Kukui's Incineroar is the strongest non legendary pokemon in Alola and was able to go against 100 milion volt Z-move(without blaze), I would say Ash's Incineroar is a bit stronger than Kukui's and since Z-moves are as strong as Mega and G-max it's pretty sure Incineroar is stronger than most of Ash's pokemon. Btw, that's just my opinion and I am aware that people always forget how powerful Ash's Alolan team really was. The list would be this... 1. Ash Greninja 2. Pikachu(with pikachunium Z) 3. Mega Lucario( the current one after episode 108). 4. Incineroar( with either blaze boosted inferno overdrive or Malicious Moonsault). 5. Infernape with blaze.( if Infernape use Inferno overdrive with blaze then I would say that Infernape could go to 3rd place). 6. Charizard. ( If it gets a Mega then it has the potential to go in the first place). Again it's just my opinion....

Ash is so overpowered (the only trainer who can use Mega Evolution, Z-Moves and Dynamax), the competition needs to set a special rule (each trainer can only use one of the techniques per match) to help his competitors. How I wish the studio will give Ash access to all his Pokemon and techniques, then allow him to become the Monarch before going back to drag on the series forever. This allows closure for some fans, while the rest can choose to continue watching the series forever if they want.

I’m hoping Ash uses his older Pokémon through the tournament and then uses his journeys team against Leon. I would be ok with that. I would say ash uses his aces against Leon but he has to many more than 6 and which ones do you decide to pick from that? Pikachu is obvious, Charizard, Sceptile, Infernape, krookodile, greninja (who’s not even his anymore), lycanrock & Lucario. So from those choices 2 would miss out on the final fight, so I think it’s safe ash will use his journeys team in the end.

If this is truly the end of Ash's journey, I want him to use a team that represents his entire career as a trainer, and I think this is pretty good.

Who I think which Pokémon Ash should have for the masters. If he faces Alain, then either charizard and greninja. The reason for charizard is because charizard wants to be the greatest charizard. Next is if he faces Cynthia then my man infernape is up for this battle. Then if he faced Lance then pikachu honestly would be fine, he wouldn’t need to bring any Pokémon back. If he faced Iris again for whatever the reason then idk, dragonite again? If he faced Steven then it would be sceptile. If he faced Diantha then greninja for sure. And last is Leon and I 100 percent think it would be charizard simply because of the same reason with Alain, Charizard wants to be the greatest charizard of them all, this would be very fitting for him to win in.

Then the Journeys team to face Leon. So against Alain Greninja returns, Charizard for Kanto, Sceptile for Hoenn, Krookadile for Unova, and throw a few more in there to help them with a mix of his journey’s team

@@sonaliagrawal3702 There were some cases in the past where Ash used older Pokemon in crucial matches and they did more than okay. I mean, Snorlax is hardly used but it's a powerhouse every time Ash uses it. Plus, it will be a tactical advantage if Ash uses his older mons since his opponents (esp Leon) might already be familiar with what he will use. Also, I'm not saying Ash abandons his Journeys team entirely. He can just mix with one or two from his other mons if he can. Hopefully, Paul can throw some sense into him, especially in fighting vs Cynthia.

I am also in favour of old pokemon returning but when they returned before they just came for the league conference. Master's eight is a whole another level Like in sinnoh league ash was at one of his best leagues in terms of power and matches But even then infernape wasn't even close to the power cynthia has and journeys also did not do a good job of showing of his power. So infernape battling cynthia on equal footing is the best thing but as I might say the increase in power is too high
