At the end of the Johto series, Misty actually got her bike back, but knowing Ash he probably burnt that one too, so it's good she got a new one lol! And her putting on Ash's cap was awesome as well, would've been really cool to see in the show so it's cool she did it here!

@@AdvancedMudkipper Yup! I remember seeing that final episode of Johto and feeling so disappointed that Nurse Joy just gives Misty her bike back, with no resolution for how Ash and Misty met. I consider our film to be an alternate timeline, in which Ash finds out about Giovanni, runs away, and thus Misty never gets her bike back because she stopped traveling with Ash. Thanks again, and let me know what you think of our other films!!!

Damn, this is cool! Sure, the props and CGI aren't top notch, but the casting is actually pretty good. A few things: 1) Didn't Ash and Gary abandon their rivalry at the end of Indigo or Ruby and Sapphire? 2) Maybe I had to watch the anime past Diamond and Pearl, but when did Ash and Giovanni actually meet in person? I know that Giovanni being Ash's dad is a popular fan theory, but Nintendo\ Gamefreak never confirmed it, as far as I know. Regardless, when have they met in person? 3) Was Giovanni just hanging out in that random desert location the whole time on the off-chance that Ash might return? 4) So what happened during the showdown between Ash and Giovanni? Since Giovanni wanted to use a MasterBall, I'm guessing he wanted to call Mewtwo? But he never captured it in the anime continuity, even in "Mewtwo's Revenge" Giovanni simply convinced Mewtwo into a partnership, he never caught him into a pokeball. So then, Pikachu just zapped Giovanni before the MasterBall released its pokemon, and the battle was over before it started? 5) Why did Ash become the new professor when in the anime it was actually Gary who gave up on becoming a pokemon trainer in favour of this? I mean, it's possible that goals change over time, but still. And where did Gary get a letter from Oak? 6) Ash actually gave Misty a new bike at the end of Orange League.
