Asha Tai and Latha Tai are truly legends of our time and we can only consider ourselves lucky to be born in her era. She and Yesudas Sir are unique legends who are beyond human comprehension and both of them truly deserve to be given Bharat Ratna. I want our Government not to delay the Bharat Ratna to both these legends. We are puny human beings and we cannot even comprehend or comment on these legends who have acheived so much in life and who are still so humble even today. What a photographic memory to remember events which have happened 60-70 years back.

Indeed the highest civilian award Bharat Ratna should be awarded to the legendary Asha Bhosle by the Government of India in recognition of her contribution to Indian music for eight decades. I can candidly say that no one is comparable with her due to her magical voice rendered in all sorts of songs. Really Asha Ji, my most beloved and favorite singer, is a versatile genius. In all the interviews of Asha I've seen (and some live shows also), she always avoids talking much about her true mentor OP Nayyar. Whatever the reason for the rift between them, it is unfair to see Asha understating the role of OP Nayyar in shaping her early career. If you ask a true connoisseur of Hindi music, out of the top 10 songs of Asha, at least 6 will be OP Nayyar songs. Similarly, she gives much less importance to Mohammad Rafi than he deserves, and more to Kishore. Asha has sung more than 800 duets with Rafi, some of them the most classic romantic duets in Hindi cinema. But she almost dismissed Rafi as a "serious" man who "did not talk much"
