I mean, you're right, but this video copied Goodfellas(1990).
@metuneter24154 ай бұрын
Not only that, they cast the some of the best to co-star. In Rain On Me, Larenz Tate wasn't even visible in the first few seconds of the video. All you heard was his voice and he took it from her. Here, Terence D. Howard brings his skills, as well. In a little over four minutes, the man makes this a visual triumph. His presence, his timing and his ability to flow, yet stay in control of the storyline (even when he's not speaking) is a testament to his immense talent; even in a music video. Well done.

Exactly right, TY! Beautiful, intelligent, creative; she had some of the best collabs back in the day too. Don't understand why these kids from Tiktok are so popular. Who cares if some random can make up a simple 15 second dance & then upload it? Makes NO sense. Rap and R&B was sooo freakin good back in the 90's & 2000's. Best collabs, beats, hooks, singers × rappers to date. Plus, Rock was still alive & kickin'! Then it all started going downhill around the late 00s/early 2010's. Ugh, Lord have mercy I sound really old! Not trying to hate tho bc there are some good songs every now & then, just speaking straight facts - AKA: my own personal opinion, lol. 🤭🧐

Yeah she is and I think Irv Gotti is underrated also as a producer and video director
@urb0893 жыл бұрын
This whole music video is a remake of Goodfellas and Mesmerize is a remake of the end of the movie Grease. What that tells me is that she’s not intrinsically talented enough to come up with her own theme for her own videos. Come again with “so talented” and “underrated”???
@urb0893 жыл бұрын
@@mallorywaters87 I’m 32 and I don’t think music even 20 years ago was all that good. I mean, it was better than what they’re putting out today, but that’s not saying a whole lot. Also, the bullshit of today’s pop music was made possible by the bullshit pop music from 20 years ago.
@BL773573 жыл бұрын
@@urb089 you're right about anything after 2010 is straight garbage I don't listen to any music dropping today. You are wrong about music 20 years ago, it was still good, maybe not as good as anything before 2000s though. All music started dying somewhere in the mid 2000s and by 2015 it became COMPLETE GARBAGE. I'm 36.. Also even though this video is based on Goodfellas, it's still well done by Irv Gotti. the mesmerize video and song sucked.

Same here. As a young kid in the early 2000s, I listened to this song not having a clue what it was about. Now as a man in his 30s, it makes me tear up for all the people (women, men, and non-binary alike) who are abused by the very person who is supposed to love them the most. I’m lucky that my boyfriend isn’t abusive and that I have never been in an abusive relationship, but physical, emotional, and/or psychological abuse can happen to anyone. If someone out there reads this comment and is experiencing abuse from their partner, know that someone out there loves you and that while leaving your abuser can be really difficult, no one deserves abuse and we all deserve love. And abuse is NOT love no matter what your abuser tells you.

Ashanti See, my days are cold without you But I'm hurting while I'm with you And though my heart can't take no more I keep on running back to you See, my days are cold without you But I'm hurting while I'm with you And though my heart can't take no more I keep on running back to you Baby, I don't know why you're treating me so bad You said you love me, no one above me and I was all you had And though my heart is beating for you, I can't stop crying I don't know how I allow you to treat me this way and still I stay See, my days are cold without you But I'm hurting while I'm with you And though my heart can't take no more I keep on running back to you See, my days are cold without you But I'm hurting while I'm with you And though my heart can't take no more I keep on running back to you Baby, I don't know why you wanna do me wrong See when I'm home, I'm all alone and you are always gone And boy, you know I really love you, I can't deny I can't see how you could bring me to so many tears after all these years See, my days are cold without you But I'm hurting while I'm with you And though my heart can't take no more I keep on running back to you See, my days are cold without you But I'm hurting while I'm with you And though my heart can't take no more I keep on running back to you I trusted you, I trusted you So sad, so sad what love will make you do All the things that we accept Be the things that we regret To all of my ladies Feel me, come on, sing with me See, when I get the strength to leave You always tell me that you need me And I'm weak 'cause I believe you And I'm mad because I love you So I stop and think that maybe You can learn to appreciate me Then it all remains the same That you ain't never gonna change Never gonna change, never gonna change See, my days are cold without you But I'm hurting while I'm with you And though my heart can't take no more I keep on running back to you See, my days are cold without you But I'm hurting while I'm with you And though my heart can't take no more I keep on running back to you Baby, why you hurt me, leave me and desert me? Boy, I gave you all my heart and all you did was tear it up Looking out my window, knowing that I should go Even when I pack my bags, this something always hold me back Source: LyricFind
