The reason magma blades are so good is because its fire, fire damage is one of if not the most effective elemental damages besides magic.

I’m not sure that magic is so better than other damage types. It may be generally less resisted… but it can be buffed in a different, and in my opinion, worse way. Most of intelligence build don’t have access to golden vow (there are alternatives, like the skill instead of the spell, but it is very great), they don’t have flame grant me strenght or howl of shabriri, and the “intelligence” gameplay is quite basic. Just spam night incantations, comet azur or other broken spells, and hope the boss doesn’t start attacking you or moving too fast

I always recommend getting the Millicent prosthesis first because you can get the winged sword insignia until your second playthrough (although it’s weaker than the rotten version) it still stacks with the prosthesis

@@harzerharald It may help. Max Discovery is 324 I believe. I was only running with silver scarab talisman and silver mimic tear helm and was sitting around 200 to 250 discovery occasionally using silver pickled fowl foot for a boost. I used about 30 fowl feet and didn't pick the item up while using them. Hard to say if it's worth rebirthing for extra arcane. While on paper it should help, ive never felt like it's helped.

I think a great QoL improvment to this build would be to swap out milicents prosthesis for the green turtle talisman as the weapons use quite alot of stamina, and lets not kid ourselves, the weapon already deals way too much dmg to the point where bosses can't even be enjoyed because they simply die too fast, even in ng+ they just fall over and die.

First of all, thank you for this guide, absolutely inspiring. So much so I spent the whole of last night using this guide to farm what I needed for the build. My tenacity paid off. Tonight I've had a proper shot of it and I'm in love. I thought nothing would keep me away from my arcane dex bleed build bollocks and Elens Poleblades. Elens because I cant remember how to spell her name lol but this is a keeper. I'm in love again. It quite literally melts. I have 50 endurance so I've decided to use the Champion outfit and run lightweight and because it looks bad@ss, and the manouverability is unmatched. Still got that little bit of tankiness too. You could try flocks canvas talisman to boost the power of the incantations if you’re going to use them? Or maybe just a utility talisman like erdtree’s favour +2. Power stancing jump attacks are always fun. So maybe Claw talisman and maybe even the raptors black feathers armour to stack

Took an hr or 2 for both Blades...i was super frustrated for a bit but i got the 2nd one on a 2nd leg of pickle foot. Both times i got them was 99arcane & talisman & picklefoot

In fact, I was at base arcane at 7 or 8 and only needed silver scarab to get two of the magma blades. In less than 1 hour, like come back time to time to try. Don't just try for hours and your good. It was relatively more easy than what people make it seem like. I almost started it with respec, but I didn't and glad that I didn't. The silver pickled foot didn't help at all. It's the one shot kills with talisman that helped me most for anyone who really needs to know now how things are like.

My biggest issue with this build is deciding which 4 talismans to use. The talisman of the dread is great for boosting the magma ash or war and I use the Raptor's Black Feathers chest piece to boost jump attacks so it is hard to decide between the others. Ultimately I went with Shard of Alexander, Claw Talisman, Talisman of the Dread and the Fire Scorpion Charm for more consistent attack power and use the Flame Shrouding Tear and Thorny Cracked Tear.

I would personally change claw talisman because you already have boosted jump attacks from Raptor's Feathers so you could go for rotted winged insignia or Milicent's prosthesis for even more damage.

You could def use DCGS talisman yeah, offsets the defense nicely. Also, you could put the claw talisman on and the raptors black feathers chest piece and then you have a double boost to jump attacks, which can hit very hard as powerstance jump attacks 👍😀

Well you can only have 1 body buff and 1 aura buff. So it depends what kind of buff it is, as it willl be replacing Golden Vow or Flame Grant me Strength - so it will need to be a stronger buff than the one it replaces :)

The buffs stack multiplicatively so Golden Vow + Flame Grant Me Strength will be 1.2 * 1.15 = 1.38 so 38% instead of 35%. I prefer having the Dragoncrest Greatshield talisman always equipped because late game enemies deal ridiculous amounts of damage. Nonetheless this is a great build. Still watched the vid even tho I've already tried pretty much every possible build in this game.

100%, maybe it looks cool but I’m sure there is another non-set combo that could even beat the Banished Knight’s unaltered set and still get medium load…very easy to do with a bit more effort. Banished Knight Armor is a hard drop, but so are the Magma Blades…especially 2. Maybe even sub out Millicent’s Prothesis for Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman to be a bit more of a tank and/or Black Flame’s Protection. Increase poise, still just as fast. I’d give up the minimal dex and attacks boost from Millicent’s Prothesis to increase my physical damage negation by so much more…depending on the enemy.
