@TheSlickAndroid wise words man..i was going through my african american literature text book and it actually had excerpts from tracks made by grandmaster flash and 2pac and it broke down the meaning of there lyriqs. at this point i highly doubt i'd ever see a rappers name in a textbook again. really says a lot

@holdupdown. You are a great realist thinker, it's the damn truth because within each man woman and child lives a beast or a demon, what we do with it is what separates us from our race.

@TheSlickAndroid Man...I know how you feel. Before I was home schooled, I almost destroyed my life by acting like the negative stereotype of black peo....Niggas. But then, I discovered that there was more to life than becoming a rapper or a basketball or football player. I realized that intelligence was the only thing that was really gonna get me trough life.

Don't apply or identify your skin color with a stereotype in the first place and you have the game beat already my friends. The stereotype only exists as a consensus of a mass populous confirming certain behaviors or human qualities "directly" (really not) contributed from your skin color. Be a unique human being, stray from the image your specific ethnicity is subject to in the public's eye and show everyone how extraordinary you are.

@TheSlickAndroid There was a time, during the civil rights movement, that black men carried themselves with pride. We wore suits, we stood proud, we walked with confidence, we treated our women and children with respect, we had values. Men like Malcom X and Martin Luther King were our role models and leaders, what do we have today? Who do our young black men look up to now? Garbage like Lil Wayne, Slim Thug, sports players, we dress and act like fools in the streets. Look how far we've fallen

These kinda people still exist (and that's saying a white dude from central Europe) - the 'problem' is just things have diversified to the extremes. You have all kinds of people with all kinds of scenes and all kinds of stereotypes nowadays. The problem is people pick one, take the stereotype and turn into prejudice. And people acting like they seriously think they're 'gangsta' are also present within middle to upper class white kids, Asians and whomever.

🤔 I could’ve sworn there’s a version of this with another verse that talks about positive “nigga” traits. The first line is “...but niggas are beautiful too”.

I'm tired of because I'm black when I meet people my age they are stereotypes of who I am. I normally either hangout with younger kids, older kids, or the kids of my age who are considered nerds, outcast. That's bull.

@TheSlickAndroid Alright, I'm tryin' to find a place to begin really... and yes it is on this subject and I've seen comments. I just want to add a few things but I'm not sure where to begin. This is a debate, yeah. But it's for learning. I'll let you start it, though. Since you've given permission.

@TheSlickAndroid You took the words right out of my mouth, people call me the white kid and the odd ball, but I'd rather get a decent job then drop out and sell drugs with a child at a young age. It's sad how blacks are stereotyped but there's nothing we can do other than change our ways and hope the next generation will follow the correct path.
@DudeWithaPage14 жыл бұрын
@TheSlickAndroid i know this doesnt mean much from a random youtuber, but Your comment really means somthing to me, cuz its like a few people make the whole race look like that "Chris Brown" (lol) when really were all just a bunch of regular guys, sure we have a different culture, but if we have them, our kids come first (not are rims), and we have the same credit as any other person... but i guess i can live with the racism as long as the keep the "well hung" stereotype

@TheSlickAndroid you and me both man, i am "not black" because i speak properly, don't use nigga in every sentece, and stupid things like wanting to become something when i go to college, hell, i've even been made fun of for "wanting to go to college". It's sad because i know how you feel, there actually may be a community of other black people like us who just are different. I mean is there really One specific way to be black and if you don't follow it like a religion you aren't black?

@TheSlickAndroid I see where you're coming from with that, I've been in those situations but I've seen some "unlikely" individuals taking the right actions. And believe it or not, there's a stereotype for the "White black guys" too. Have you approached any that have tried to understand you without judging you?

@BobSpotOn14 жыл бұрын
@TheSlickAndroid Well, remember that there's no such thing as acting "white", they put the stereotypes onto themselves and they're putting other stereotypes on other people. Stick with the people who you know aren't trying to conform to any of that nonsense. But try not to stereotype your own race while you're at it, that may lead to prejudging certain people who are like you. I'd at least "get to know" them before I'd judge.
