I know this sounds like 50,000 other bands I can’t stand that so many bands just copy the sound of so many other bands that’s why nothing new comes to the table because everyone is afraid of taking risks with songwriting therefore creativity goes down the toilet and everyone sticks to a formula

@@ashesreignband Modern heavy metal is suffering from the over polished digital production methods of using ProTools and other similar software which make things just too damn perfect That’s the biggest problem with bands of these days when something sounds too perfect it all sounds the same We need to go back to the days of recording off of analog tape and old style mixing boards

@@MetalHead-ks9zq It’s a double edged sword unfortunately. To be in a band that wants to compete we have to be “polished” as you say. That being said there are some things we don’t make concessions on such as myself tracking leads. If I can’t play it in one take it doesn’t get recorded. Now.. that’s still meaning I play it hundreds of times if needed to nail it so still shooting for a rather “perfect” take but we are not one of those bands who play one note at a time and then build it all in protools. Definitely still a modern production though and I can respect your stance on it. Our EP was a lot more raw but we’ve grown since then and labeled up and with that comes a mark that we are expected to hit production wise. Anyways I appreciate the dialogue on this. ~Vinny
