Ashes (We Rise Again From Ashes) Ash Wed AMC OCDC

Catholics all over the world mark the beginning of Lenten season with the imposition of Ashes on their foreheads.
The combined choirs of Ave Maria and Cantate Domino offer up Tom Conry's Ashes during the liturgical celebration of Ash Wednesday.
Numerous verses were repeated to cater for the large turnout at the parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour.

Was this from the part of a service when people got ashes rubbed on their forehead, or was this a rehearsal? I’m asking because every verse is repeated more than once.

This hymn was sung during the actual imposition of ashes. The verses were repeated because the imposition took longer than expected due to the large turn out of the faithful on Ash Wednesday.

@@olpschoirs Wished that the imposition would have taken an hour so that we would have gotten to hear this much longer. The string instrument in the background is the most beautiful sound I've ever heard. Please share what instrument it is. Will definitely order it or go to Guitar Center to buy one.
