I still think the three of them acted kind of poorly. I know they almost just died and all but they turned against squirrelflight like she’s some sort of monster. I know some people in rl react poorly to being told they were adopted but I still think it was somewhat harsh on their end. (But maybe that’s just me I’m not a fan of most firestars family /kin so my thoughts may be kind of messy)

Ok I am legit crying right now. Squirrelflight went through so much pain when "her kits" yelled at her, when they found out the truth. And I can't relate to this but I know who can. Image that you have a baby and you know, that you can't take care of that baby. You give to your neighbors, and they care for the baby. And when the child finds out that you are it's real mother, he will be mad that you lied to him. Anyone would. But Image if that was you. It would hurt

This scene was always wild to me, because she literally adopted them but somehow her lack of being their biological mother is a major point of conflict To clarify, an entire year later: I understand that being lied to is hurtful, but Squirrelflight still raised them. She and Brambleclaw never treated them as anything less than their own biological children. It sends a bad message to the audience (who is quite young) to insinuate that adoption is in some way negative or lesser than the relationship between a biological parent and child.

She took them as her kits, cared for them, had to lie to cover up for them, watched them grow up knowing she had to keep a secret they wouldn’t want to know. And that’s what they give her in return? For those who are confused After brambleclaw started hanging out with his half brother more than squirrelflight, squirrelflight felt like brambleclaw meant nothing to her and cared more about hawkfrost. To the point where ashfur started hanging out with squirrelflight more until brambleclaw felt a it jealous and moons pass when ashfur and squirrelflight are outside of camp arguing, ashfur tells squirrelflight he loves her but squirrelflight rejects him and tells ashfur about the sign of starclan and how she thinks brambleclaw and her are meant to be together, angrily ashfur tries to try and win over squirrelflight but doesn’t…Until one day a fire has started and lionblaze, hollyleaf, and jayfeather are trapped on the other end of the exit with squirrelflight, she tries to take them to safety until ashfur gets in the way and tells her how much pain he went through so he wanted to give her the exact thing by not letting them out. Then squirrelflight tells ashfur the BIGGESTTTTT secret of squirrelflight how they are not her kits and how she tricked everyone, ashfur never believed her until he let them go and now ashfur has held a secret no cat other than the trio knows, until then..jayfeather, hollyleaf, and lionblaze convince her to tell her what she meant about that they weren’t her kits (they were leafpool’s, but she is a medicine cat and forbidden to have kits) Now that ashfur knows the secret, hollyleaf finds him near the river bank and decides to kill him, she didn’t want him to spill the secret to the clan..ASHFUR KS NOW DEAD AND NO ONE ELSE WOULD LNOW ABOUT THE SECRETT WOOOOOOO My hands hurt😻
