That seems to be one of the requirements to be a good climber: the ability to not be distracted by the people who think they're helping you, or actually to be energized by it, or at least a crowd cheering you on. But yeah, I find it hard to imagine hearing one or two people continually yelling out my name or "come on" and thinking anything other than, STFU!

there is no such think like to shorty/long ...or something for climbing :) . I've learned this the hard way :) One day I was unable to do A6+ lead, took me whole day to try and then at some point when I was resting a 12 year old kid ( I am 38year old 1.75m high and he was at lest 15cm shorter) done it with ease :) . Well I thought to my self, it is nice to be young and then a guy came from no where, from the look of it arroud 40-45 year old and he nailed it on the first try :D. And that was not the worst part, the worst part was that he didn't even had to adjust his prostetic leg to flash it :D

We set the hold on the wall using our past climbing experience - recreating movement we have experienced and/or creating new movement in which we are able to manipulate our bodies to do so. Many techniques, skills and disciplines to learn before becoming a good Route Setter.
@Bubu5674 жыл бұрын
I have a feeling sometimes they make courses that seem impossible and take outside thinking to complete. Sometimes courses are completed by no one. That isn't rare. However, giving climbers an 'impossible' course to complete can really bring out the best in a climber.
@KelvinClimber4 жыл бұрын
for the most time, the route setters has completed all of the moves, idk how they set in the world cup, but i suspect there s a chance of them making ''impossibol routes'' to,saying impossible in that no setter has completed it, but i think that's rather rare, for the most sake the routesetters intend it to be hard but not impossibol, defantly have seen some pretty hard routes in comptitions in norway, where i live like norway cup where ive tested routes afterwards and most routes are doable but allot are really hard to complete,other than that ive set to smaller competitions, and i can say with 100% certanty that iv at least once set an impossibol to do route, for a competition, cause the last hold simply was to bad, but the rest of the route was doabe up to that point, i had just simply gotten enough of testing at that point and was tired of setting that route, so i just left it be, but im sure all the moves to the last move on that route was possibol, but in a comption like a wc ik im pretty sure they have fully at least tested all the moves and has at least one way to complete it that is possibol, at that route spesfic i didn't test the route propertly which made it ''impossibol'' to do, may be somebody that might be able to do that route but they must have had a very big hand size so they could pinch that hold better than most people could, as the hold was very big and the only way i can think it would have be possibol to complete the route i set than was if you had very big hands as i tested the move in awhile after the small city comp i set it for, but as i said for the most time the setters test the moves and make sure all moves are possibol, also me myself cause that is the one time i can remember not doing it, and have never done it since for good reason

The "inverted footjam" at 1:54... She did jam her foot, literally speaking, but I believe this is typically refered to as an inverted heel-toe cam. A "footjam" would refer to a twisting of the forefoot into a crack or crevasse.
