What nostalgia! I well remember my first Derby final night in 1980 at White City. I was in awe of the place…. the immaculate all turf track, brilliant track lighting, colourful huge tote boards….. and the 30,000crowd! How Indian Joe won it from Hurry on Bran that night after an injury scare the week before was just something else…… wonderful memories of the greatest track I’ve had the privilege to get to visit!

Can remember putting my 40p pocket money on Lacca Champion, sad went into Mecca Bookmakers for me as I was Only 14 and I got £1 note on Monday morning. Happy memories
