In the bustling heart of Kolkata's iconic Park Street, I visited the legendary Mocambo restaurant, a place that has been serving sumptuous continental delights since 1956. Mocambo isn't just a restaurant; it’s a legacy and a haven for food lovers.
I was joined by the amazing Shahbaaz Zaman, the founder of FoodZpah, a vibrant community that started as a Facebook group in 2017 and has blossomed into a popular platform where foodies share their love for food. Shahbaaz’s passion for culinary experiences is truly inspiring, and together, we embarked on a flavorful journey at one of Kolkata’s most beloved dining spots.
We indulged in some of Mocambo’s signature dishes like the classic Chicken A la Kiev, which is a crispy and juicy delight, and the Hawks Bay prawns cocktail, a refreshing treat that tantalizes the taste buds. The asparagus and mushroom risotto was a creamy symphony, and the bhetki fish kasundi was a perfect blend of traditional flavors with a continental twist.
Our feast continued with the Deviled crab, a rich and flavorful dish, and the Fish A la Diana, a delicacy that epitomizes gourmet elegance. The Chicken Tetrazzini was comfort food at its best, and the Becky Bell meunière was simply divine.
Walking through the lively streets of Kolkata, chatting and laughing with Shahbaaz, was an experience to cherish. The energy of the city and the warm hospitality at Mocambo made our food adventure even more special.
