Ash really comes close to being my favourite player! In the past it was Henin, then it was and still is Angie Kerber, but there’s something about Ash Barty that’s just so likeable. Great personality, no drama or unnecessary temper, great sportswoman. And her tennis is so entertaining and refreshing to look at. Never change and keep going Ash! Much love from Germany ❤️👏

I think we all underestimate how tough it is, socially and therefore psychologically, to be on tour, especially at such a young age like when she started. In an ideal world they’d have a parent or sibling with them on tour, but at the beginning of their career that’s not possible unless the family is very wealthy

I remember as a kid seeing the back end of Evonnes career. Ash is actually mentally stronger than Evonne, Evonnes concentration used to go "walkabout" sometimes which is why she had a losing head to head against consistency queen Evert but she still oozed talent like Ash oozes talent and Evonne was always a crowd favourite due to her smooth strokes and variety. I think Ash can win multiple slams she just has to keep that new mental control and stability she has exhibited the past twelve months.

You know that's a little racist, considering other races have people with great eye-hand coordination. Seems to me, two more great Australian tennis players had wonderful eye-hand coordination, Margret Court and Rod Laver both did very well for themselves. In fact they both still hold records in tennis. To attribute attributes to race is a slippery slope when those attributes are negative. So you see it's best that you not. And have you ever thought the eye-hand coordination might come from some other part of her heritage?
