They have so many great songs, but there's something about Particles that gets to me, and for that reason it is my favorite song of theirs (and is probably one of my most-played on Spotify). I'm glad you enjoyed it as much as I do. Conor's voice is just out of this world.

Every now and then I search KZbin for "Reacts to Nothing but Thieves" just to see the jaw drop moment. I found your review of the first full album and it didn't disappoint :) I'm now subbed and have really enjoyed all of your content. When I saw you were reviewing the second Nothing but Thieves album I thought "Oh just wait until she hears Particles piano version" again you didn't disappoint haha. There's something really cool about watching someone experience that moment that you felt when you first heard it, especially when you know that the person doesn't pull punches if they don't like something. Keep up the good work, looking forward to all of your future reviews! I'm always looking for new music as well and this is a great source.

The “what did you think when you made me this way” EP before moral panic was released is worth a listen!
@AlanHarnish Жыл бұрын
Afterlife was the original closing song for the album, that’s why the outro for it is so long. Reset Me and Number 13 are deluxe songs. Tbh I think Afterlife is the best album closer they’ve ever had. The outro alone gives me such a sense of closure and the want to listen to more afterwards.

Love reaction, thanks. I also love the album cover and read that it is based on the Japanese art of Kintsugi, which is basically repairing broken objects in a way that makes them even lovlier than they were before. Using gold or silver joinery is one technique. Apparently part of a Japanese philosophy of embracing human flaws.

aaahhhh amazing reactionnnn u really made me happy today!! i love to see u go from being completely unimpressed to calling urself a fan. nd i can bet ure gonna be even more amazed in the future. thats why u always gotta give things a second and third chance...^^ the album cover is absolutely gorgeous and actually has a lot of meaning according to the band, as it comes from the japanese method of kintsugi, in which they replace broken pieces with gold. just a cool lil fan fact. basically saying your flaws and imperfections make you unique. the band advocates a lot for mental health, conor has opened up about his own ocd and depression so its an important theme for them and their music. really unfortunate u couldn't see them live because theyre absolutely insane live

Now that I actually watched this(and fell asleep before I could comment), I have a few things. One, the standard album actually ends at Afterlife! So the deluxe has Reset Me, Number 13, and then the acoustic and piano versions. I just think its really interesting how if you're listening to it as a whole album, Afterlife is supposed to be the end. Like as a concept album that song ends the life of the album, but then you have Reset Me to literally reset the whole journey you just went on. And then we get lovely Number 13 that Conor was absolutely feeling himself on 😂 And the other thing! I'm pretty positive since Sorry came out, the band has played it every show. And I believe you said it, but it really is so good live!! Not even for the performance necessarily, but because it's so amazing being part of room full of other people and you have different lives but you're all singing such honest lyrics together of "maybe I'm defective, or maybe I'm dumb" etc. Plus, having waited for the concert, you then get to sing "I've waited for this, I've been waiting so longgggg" during the bridge and mean it!! Finally! Don't forget about their EP What Did You Think When You Made Me This Way!! It's only 4 songs, but it has the song I was introduced to them with, and one of my personal favorites (if you thought Conor was feeling himself during Number 13, wait till you hear this song). Aside from that EP, Conor himself released a 5 song EP as a side project late last year! It's called Man-Made Sunshine ☀️ If you like his more softer singing, you'd love MMS. Super vulnerable songs, he's spoken about how he did a lot of healing through them. Whether you do a reaction or not, should definitely listen! Ahhh can't wait for Moral Panic, my absolute favorite album, specifically when its complete edition lol. Thank you!!!

Your in the right order can’t wait for moorrreeee please the the complete edition of moral panic when you do it!!!!! It’s like the “extended edition”, their new concept album DCC is sooooo good. Also I’m obsessed with there cover Crazy Holding Out for A Hero What Can I do when the fire goes out If you want live vibes without the chaos only their concerts, they did isolations sessions during COVID which are insaannnely good.

OMG I’m kinda obsessed with What do I do if the Fire Goes Out. Played here in Oz on Triple J - they were jet-lagged but absolutely smashed it. I listened to the original version but I prefer their cover. Especially the guitar build up. My tax dollars at work.

WOW THANK YOU FOR THE REACTION!❤ I listened Particles (piano version) like a thousand times when the album came out. Can't wait to see what you think about Moral Panic Complete Version! They basically did Moral Panic, then released Moral Panic II, then joined them into complete version in the original order they planned for all these songs. Also they have a 3-songs EP "What Did You Think When You Made Me This Way", it's fun 🔥 Sidenote: in the beginning of Afterlife he says "Afterlife, oh what a terrible thought. 'Cause I've lived without you once before." He thinks he can't live without her again :)

I saw them live in Dallas and I just got tickets for my hometown show in Seattle in October. I had the pleasure of meeting Conner in Dallas, and he was the nicest person. It’s a very reflective album, and very much the whole band’s reaction to the situation Conor was going through. They’ve been together since their teens, and there’s genuine love for each other. But going into in this album the band kind of felt they may never be a band again so it’s a bit of an unintentional concept album.

I heard "I'm Not Made By Design" in 2017 and that got me hooked forever on NBT, there was no turning back. "Particles" continues to be my absolute favorite song of theirs. I saw them live a few times, last time was in 2022 when things started to get relaxed with the pandemic. That was a long anticipated concert for me and it was wild. The favorite part was that they did "Particles" in a stripped down version that blew me away. I asked my hubby to film it while I was sobbing in my mask. It is posted on my channel if you would like to see but the quality is not great since it's a phone video and we were sitting a little more to the back with some annoying people around that talked loudly all the concert.

Just re-watching this after seeing them in Amsterdam at the weekend, I couldn’t remember what you thought about it. They did quite a few songs from this album including I Was Just A Kid which I know you said you found annoying, but honestly live it’s just so good, his vocals in the annoying chorus just filled the whole venue, and Price’s drums are even better live too. They also did Broken Machine and Sorry, and of course, Amsterdam - the main reason I went was to see them do Amsterdam in Amsterdam and as expected the roof nearly came off 😄
