One of my long term dreams is to "decontaminate" the Maltese language and put maximum pressure on the Maltese government, media, education, academia, Radio, TV, Newspapers, Magazines, Film, Police, Army,. Navy, Air force, Water, Electricity, Had, Power authorities to "purify" this language. I get sick to the buckteeth every time I watch a Maltese TV soap opera they constantly pollute and code switch. This actress (and a few others) keep doing this. @@axisa1 Thanks for your response. Please *don't* take this personally as we have also observed other Maltese actresses and actors adopting this hideous habit of speaking in polluted Maltese. We do appreciate you have to earn a living in the Film. TV and Theatre world and in some situations what you speak on screen maybe something you have very little say in but this culture in the Maltese media needs to urgently change. These scrip writers may think its "trendy" or "stylish" to pollute their own language with Italian and English words and phrases. So this needs to be dealt with head on. I will file complaints against your boss, managers, acting company, acting school, whoever you work for. I am sick and tired to the buckteeth of clicking on Maltese language videos and having to put up with this constant 'code switching' and regularly occuring Italian pollution. I hope that any fines or penalties which may be incurred in view of any breaches in newly enacted linguistic laws would also apply to scriptwriters as well as actresses/actors. To ensure that this vile habit can be eradicated successfully, a newly created linguistic *police force* would be created. *It will be primarily STAFFED BY ARABS FROM THE MAGHREB,* Tunisia, Algeria and west Libya and they will be tasked with the job of enforcing these laws aggressively by way of issuing 'on-the spot' fines. They will be armed with pistols. batons, pepper spray and tear gas which they can use on people refusing to comply with the new laws. *All* kindergartens, pre schools, nurseries schools. colleges and universities will instruct their teachers and lecturers to fine and punish children, pupils and students for using polluted speech. The need for these steps to be taken is more than warranted as if this trend in pollution continues the language will be permanently damaged. These measures will hopefully preserve its *Arabic/semitic* character and flavour. *I WILL CONTACT ("REACH OUT" TO) YOUR AGENT AND MAKE AN OFFICIAL COMPLAINT AGAINST YOU* for using pollution in your speech. ITS ABSOLUTE DISGRACEFUL ACTING ANTONELLA AND THIS NEEDS TO STOP NOW. I AM ABSOLUTELY SICK TO THE BACK TEETH OF HAVING TO SIT THROUGH NUMEROUS MALTESE SOAP OPERAS. DRAMAS. The acting is good and there's the inevitable generous peppering of Italian loan words in the language but whats most noticeable (and rather annoying) is that they have this rather irritating habit of spouting out loan words and, in fact for that matter, entire sentences in English in the Maltese dialogue at frequent intervals further polluting this otherwise Semitic/Tunisian Arabic based dialect. *Say Yes to Pure Maltese* ✔️🇲🇹➕🇹🇳➕🇩🇿➕🇱🇾✔️ *Say NO To Italian Pollution* ☢️ ❌🇮🇹❌🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿❌🇪🇺❌☢️
