Tuesday, February 9, 1999. - Ashley Ouellette gets permission from her parents to spend the night at the home of a friend. Sometime around 10 p.m. she leaves her friend’s house. She catches a ride from a boy who drives her to the home of another friend. A few hours after arriving at this other house she is found dead in the road. This case is still unsolved and approaching the dreaded 25th anniversary of that fateful night. When a female walks into a room of males, she becomes center of attention. They gather around her like she's giving out gum, but all these guys act like a pretty girl showing up on their porch buzzed at midnight is no big deal and they distance themselves from her. Steve claims the reason he had limited contact with her was because he had a girlfriend. Why would Ashley go through all the effort to see him if a girlfriend would prevent him from messing with her? Cause the GF wasn't a deterrent. Steve has probably messed with Ashley behind his GF's back before. Usually the father wears the pants in the family, but the Sanborne Mother seems to be the only one talking. Can't tell you how many times as a teen a friend's pervy father made weird comments, so I wouldn't eliminate him. Wondering about this Chris guy staying with the family too. Also, teenagers tend to drive around aimlessly for fun, but they usually hover in a certain radius around fast food joints, malls, and friend's houses--not nearly 4 hrs away where her body was found. They're fairly new drivers, so what area of interest was in the direction of where her body was found? Who would be familiar with that desolate road?

If some little girl came to my house saying she left because she got into it with her parents I’d say no way! Especially if I only had boys. I’d look at like it’s just trouble waiting to happen. It happened to us once where one of my daughter’s friends was over on a school night then when it started getting dark, her mother refused to pick her up! I was like are you kidding me? That woman didn’t even know us! Me and daughter dropped her off at her home then immediately I told my daughter she wasn’t allowed over anymore. That was that, I don’t deal with that kind of crap. I know that wasn’t the case here with this young lady and her parents - my heart goes out to them - I’m just giving an example of another situation.

When she couldn't be with Steven, did she call someone to take her back to the first girls house. Now, she would then appear at school with the right person. Alone, and unaccounted for, timewise, another person, unknown to the others, would never be suspected.

Mom couldn't say no maybe to a fault, it sounds like which is the hallmark of parents who have behavior issues. They put her in road in hopes she got hit.

What I'm thinking is the Sanborn home is way out so my question is I don't see a 15-year-old girl walking out of that house at 2 or 3:00 I believe she called for a ride. So the police should get the phone records and see if there was any calls outgoing calls from the Sanborn home between 1:00 a.m. and 3:30 otherwise I'm thinking the 19 year old that was staying there and tho younger brother are suspect number one.phone records would give a big clue. Like I said a 15 year old girl ain't going to walk down a deserted road at 2:00 in the morning.
