I relate to this a lot. When I was younger, my mom weighed around 400 pounds, and she had a lot of problems along with that, like anxiety, depression, and we rarely left the house to go out with friends or family because she hated the thought of big crowds. I remember her going to work and then coming home and sitting on her bed for the rest of the night. And I would clean the house and heat up the leftovers and taken care of the dogs. And whenever she needed something to drink, or she needed me to grab something for her I would do it. Around the time I was 12 we realized that something needed to change. So my mom put in the work, and she has lost at least 150 pounds, she got help for her anxiety, and she’s now very happy and engaged, but she is still working towards losing weight so that she can get pregnant safely. I’m very proud of her.

I'd be surprised if any doctor authorised surgery for her. Being that big makes the surgery more dangerous and since her habits haven't changed there is risk of her overeating after surgery and causing complications.
