16 years of marriage and 10 years since the divorce, 26 years, little less than half of my life. I didn't hear this song until long after the divorce. The Genius of the song, in my opinion, is trying not to tell the friends or family because of the humiliation that comes along with the destruction of the marriage. It was also very genius at the end of the song when he said tell me you love me tell me you love me tell me you love me. Because I questioned whether the person who chose to divorce me ever loved me except for what I could do for them. I honest to God felt that deeply. I got a very rare cancer that helped to no doubt lead to the divorce, not that I didn't help myself because I was in depression from that cancer. It makes you very leery to ever love again, but I'm happy to say that I am remarried, but this song still hit hard

I’m in the middle of my duel right now after 2.5 years with the one I thought I will last for the rest of my days but we couldn’t hold it as we wanted and I’m so in pain that I can’t even breathe.
