🚨If you’re a normal decent subscriber you can ignore this. To the very few unkind and/or odd people who have begun to notice my channel as we grow: If you are not interested in this subject, you can just click out of this video. If you don’t like my voice, you can just click out of this video. If you would prefer to watch a video that has only pictures instead of me doing my makeup, go look for a video like that. It is very creepy and strange to leave comments on a complete strangers video letting them know that you want to watch something else or don’t like their voice… I do not know you personally. I do not know you at all. So no I will not be getting voice lessons to change my voice to one that pleases you, a complete stranger. And no I will not be changing the video format to one that pleases you, a complete stranger with absolutely no personal stake in my life or choices. In closing, what you put out into the world comes back to you ten fold. So if you wanna be a jerk that’s fine but from here out I’ll just be blocking you which on KZbin means your comments will forever be visible only to yourself - enjoy whining into the void. 👋🏻 Or alternatively get some fresh air and stop being a weird, entitled creep in the KZbin comments of a complete stranger who has absolutely no effect on your life….

Sometimes it's better to be born plain than stunning. Many decent, very intelligent, stunningly beautiful, talented women rarely get asked out by anyone at all but wolves. Rex Harrison was the only gentleman there. And yes, Oleg was a sadistic narcissitically personality disordered person. Like her father was. Jean was not a bipolar, but a CPTSD. That's how the 'wolves' get to you. The love and friendship of a decent male 'life' friend (or a friend partner) is the best cure.

I have found beauty to be my biggest downfall. The decent men are shy and intimidated by me and the self-centered ego jackasses like D Trump are the pursuers can't keep their hands of me. I'm beautiful and dying of loneliness...

At college in the UK in the 1970's, I shared a dorm with a girl called Gene Tierney. Gene related the story of how her father thought the American Miss Tierney was the most beautiful actress he had ever seen....and so named his own daughter. Years later, and I saw the beautiful Gene Tierney in 'Leave Her To Heaven' and was absolutely mesmerised by her presence and, of course, her beauty. 'Thank you, new subscriber here xx

On a movie shoot years ago, I met a guy known only as "The Video Commander". I was reading a biography of Gene Tierney. He always looked at me funny. I too, was an Irish girl with high cheekbones. Somene said "Hey! You kind of look like that actress from the '50s, uh, what's her name?" "Gene Tierney I said. We had the same orthodontist!" I was making fun of my overbite. The Video Commander stormed out and would not speak to me for three days. He took me to dinner to apologise. "That crack about her overbite really burned me." "I was talking about My overbite!" Well, you do look like her, it freaked me out. He pulled out his driver's licence- John Patrick Tierney. She was his aunt! That's why he was so sensitive about her. "You're reading her auto biography, and that freaked me out!" We ended as friends, after discussing his aunt's life.

I would like to add that I at the beginning I did not understand the relevance of you first removing your makeup, and then very gradually reapplying it as you took us through Gene’s story. As you finished, I realized that your technique was a perfect living metaphor of the gradual unfolding and revealing of Gene’s both tragic and heroic story. You have chosen a marvelous narrative technique for this great actress!

I first was bewitched by Gene in the film Laura. I watched it on TV - encouraged by my mother who was a big fan of Gene’s and of classic films in general. It did not hurt of course that the theme music of the film - which became a popular song - was equally beguiling! I fell in love with that as well, and still play the theme on the piano after all these years. I then was encouraged to see Leaver Her to Heaven, by my life partner, who had been equally bewitched by Gene - both by her beauty and overwhelmingly by her powerful performance! Yes, then once again I chanced to fall in love with her all over again in The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. She was a great beauty, and she carried her consummate talent so gently and subtly. I cannot forget her. Thank you for your faithful and heartfelt portrayal of Gene Tierney. I am touched deeply by this. Thank you for that!

I am charmed by the way your commentary is sprinkled with your down to earth perspective, and reminders of redeeming qualities, despite difficult circumstances. I always finish your videos feeling I’ve learned some thing about your subject, in this case Jean Tierney, and like I had a visit from a dear friend. Gene is my all-time favorite Hollywood beauty (with Virginia Grey, Vivien Leigh, Simone Simon, Loretta Young, and Bette Davis after her). She always dazzles me with her performances. My favorite has to be "Laura," the quintessential film noir. I cannot fathom any other actress portraying Laura. This is followed by "Leave Her to Heaven." She is icy, cruel, manipulative, and beautiful as Ellen. It is a tour de force performance. I also highly recommend "Dragonwyck" with Vincent Price.

I’ve never watched a video of yours, but after seeing this one, you can bet I’ll be watching more. I loved this video and the way you presented it. I’ve seen Gene in talk show appearances and loved LEAVE HER TO HEAVEN. A truly glamorous gorgeous woman and you did her justice. Thanks so much.

Hi. I am from Kennedy country. I have read it all and spoken on occasion to an eyewitness. Nothing has ever made me sadder than Ms. Tierney's story. I don't even suggest that JFK would have been a bad husband. Just, I can see, hear her pain in every film. Every film. I always could.

Very impressive document, couple with a tutorial in makeup application. Dear Ashley you have a lovely personality and I truly enjoyed this biography. I've seen 4 of her best movies and always wondered why such beautiful and talented actress didn't do more? Well now thanks to you I have the answer. Thanks again all the best.

This is Regina Kyle, Ashley. I am Andrew’s wife and together last night we listened to your podcast (you have an inviting and melodic speaking voice) and watched you make up your face like a true professional makeup artist that you are! You can contour with the best of them and achieved stunning results! Andrew was amazed and told me, “You should buy that right away!” He knows I need a great product just like that for a great new foundation. It would give my face a “new lease on life” and a more youthful appearance, we have no doubt! I have already watched you apply it so skillfully and artistically, but I am just dying to know what brand you were using! It’s exactly what I’ve been searching for. I know women tell you how fabulous you look constantly - and the guys do too. I would love 💕 to know the name of your facial foundation! I am much older than you and I think this wonderful product would take some years off my face. My husband was entranced watching and listening to you, and he hopes you will answer my plea as much as me!!! (We’ve been married for 48 years now, and I want him to stay attracted to me because he is handsome and youthful for his age.). If you would be so kind to provide the name of this miraculous product, we will both be so very grateful! Thank you very much for kindness, and my Andrew (he is an adorable Scotsman) and I will be following you on UTube frequently! Very glad we met you. I am English and Scottish as well. He and I can’t wait to come back to your Beautiful Isle for another visit, hopefully for 2 weeks this time! Rule, Britannia! And Ashley, so do You! Thanks again, and Cheerio! Best to you from Coloradans, Regina & Andrew (from County Kyle) 💘🇬🇧

Ashley!!! Wow, I just want you to know I loved this totally mesmerizing presentation and subscribed immediately. You are truly completely beautiful with or without makeup and when you get a negative comment it's only due to that person's jealousy and insecurity. They are simply insignificant and I just loved YOUR slapping anyone who is mean and nasty.😆! Good for you. Gene Tierney was a true star in all she accomplished. I am going to check out the rest of your presentations NOW😁 Total entertainment.

The story about Gene Tierney's daughter's condition was the inspiration for one of Agatha Christie's books. I believe the story is called "The Mirror Crack'd From Side to Side". I wonder if Gene knew about Agatha Christie's book? I think that Gene Tierney was beautiful inside and out.
@sandaglad

You're right, there's no doubt that Agatha Christie, in her book, incorporated the incident in Gene's life when she realizes with horror that she's speaking to the very woman who broke quarantine so she could go to the Hollywood Canteen & unwittingly passed German Measles on to Gene.
