ashleyyyy!!! :(( I just recently finished year 12 and I can say that the situation looks way scarier and worse on this side of vce but just know there are countless other ways to get into uni courses even if you don't have the prerequisites for example I know Melbourne uni doesn't require a folio for bachelor of graphic design (if thats what you want to do). I have a friend who did academic subjects like you with no creative subjects but she still got into bachelor of design. It's not all over for you so don't lose hope or motivation. Whats good is that since you've figured out your dream course you still have lots of time to prepare and make your folio now and also seek guidance from teachers. You're only in year 11 and still very young so try to allow yourself to enjoy vce, your friendships and high school. Life can seem really hard and emotionally challenging but this is just a small obstacle you will overcome

I relate to the feeling of being lost. I am currently studying English Lit at Uni but i realised that it's not actually what I want to do (I want to work in entertainment/ fashion/ film etc.) But I think the most important thing to think about is that the realisation that you are not happy with what you are currently doing or with where your path is headed, takes you a lot closer to actually changing your path. Once you realise how you feel, and come to terms with it, then you start thinking about what it is you want and how to get it. It's way better than just strolling through life, you may not realise it but this feeling of confusion and loss is essential to actually finding the path you want because without, you continue living in ignorance. P.S. I absolutely love your videos xx

aw ashley i totally relate to the workload difference from going to yr 10 to vce, as well as the struggle to decide my future before finally letting myself settle with a future in a creative career path. i have no idea how your school works in changing subjects during the school year but honestly i cannot express how good of a decision it was for me to decide to switch to creative/artistic subjects that i’m passionate about. i cannot explain how much easier and happier i have been doing yr 12 with subjects i actually enjoy, and i know the type of subjects you do doesn’t really affect uni (other than like medical course haha) but doing subjects you enjoy overall really can help you get better marks and a higher atar to make uni easier. i totally understand if you want to continue with this subjects but i just wanted to come here and say that being in yr 11 it’s never too late to make that switch now to make yr 12 so much more enjoyable, along with having done yr 11 and 12 vce media myself, if you decide to move into it, yr 11 media is a great stepping stone to yr 12 that you won’t have missed out on too much material so far. i hope you see this and it helps you with any uncertainty you’ve had with your vce choices, good luck! :))

hey just wanted to remind u to go easy on urself, high school can be hard, and im in college for graphic design (kinda related to what u were thinking about doing), and dont stress too much about not having many art related subjects rn, a lot of times in my program atleast, there are lots of people who had never done art before or were even in comepletly different fields before coming into it, there are lots of ways to build a portfolio for something like that that can be unrelated to school. just wanted to let u know ur doing great and that you dont have to be productive all the time, our job is to exist and be happy first before all else :)

no yeah, even in america the transition between the lower grades to upper grades in high school is a huge jump. also, you're right. the classes in your last year of high school don't matter. but universities do like to see you continue working hard -- aka having a consistent work load in year 12 compared to your other years. also also, no need to stress about uploading, school comes first :)

ah the cakes turned out so cute!! im 4 months late to this video but I wanted to leave a comment anyway, it’s so exciting to finally know what you want to do after highschool! and yes i totally understand the demotivation due to studying subjects that aren’t necessarily “relevant” to your chosen course, but just know that once you get to uni it will all be worth it~ you’ll be taught everything you need to know during your first semester so you won’t have missed out on much at all! when you’re feeling low, try finding things you like about your current subjects to get you feeling more motivated to finish:,) tmi because I can’t stop talking but I did politics and law in high school and ended up doing nursing in uni so totally unrelated subjects lol! but I don’t regret doing pol because it was my favourite subject and it gave me other skills which have helped me with uni anyway ^

As someone in the second year of uni and having done VCE in melb, i totally get how you feel. But I honestly wouldnt stress about your HS subjects because 99% of what you do in highschool doesnt matter the minute you get into uni. Just aim to get into uni and the course you want and once you get into uni it's so easy to transfer around and you ARE allowed to change your mind once you're in. Even now I question my path every day. But just focus on what you enjoy. Also I wouldnt stress too much in year 11 because you will burnout quickly before year 12 and you wanna preserve your energy :) good luck with everything :)))))

Hi im currently a junior in collge and my exprience during grade 11 before is especially harder than grade 10 or from junior high becase everything is expected of you but I think you just to give yourself mini breaks and mini achievments and i guess journaling and plannings is a must (if ur in the mood only) . So i guess u just have to be bit organize and disicipline in planning ur time for ur mental health but also enjoy ur personal time which depend how u will plan of course... Anyway take some rests and thank you for ur calm and fun vlogs they inspired me to create my own as a small youtuber🙏 stay safe and to more vlogs🔥p.s I think u work or study harder than i did when i study during grade 11😅
