I think it looks fresh but I think it's awkward that when you walk in your front door its a back of a couch right in front. I think it would look better if there was a sofa table behind the couch to anchor the space and to create more of an entryway space behind.

I love the look!! I especially love that you have the white shutters! About a year or so I mentioned that we would be moving to SLO. We want to keep this house to rent. Recently things improved in a wonderful way. 17 years ago I got hurt at work & haven't been able to work since. We were told by our attorney that we probably would get nothing or very little. We basically came to terms with it & believed it actually was a blessing because I became a stay at home mom for our daughter. Well, God had a blessing we didn't expect & we will be getting a nice amount for a down payment! (After lawyer fee & tithe) Long story, to say I will be decorating our new home & love your style!! I will be rewatching all of your decorating videos! I also love that you did a lot on a budget & I feel confident that it is possible after seeing your home. Thank-you for the beautiful example!!

Put a sofa table in back of the sofa, so that you're not walking in to the back of a sofa. It will make like a foyer. Beautiful decorations. I love it!

Looks good both ways. It's great having a freebie makeover and I always swap a few pieces, like cushions, around with the seasons to give a different look. You'r house has a lovely bright look to it.

Love it. Really spring fresh! Love the pillows on your sofa as well. Every house we live in, I always paint the inside of my fireplace with a can of heat resistant black paint so you don't see the streaky fire burned marks on the bricks inside the fireplace. To me, it just looks good and clean that way. I thought I would share that with you in case you would want to try that and see what you think of it.

That's funny your husband helps decorate. I painted our living room a dark color called sweet tea and it took my husband 9 months to notice. Then I recently repainted the living room from the dark color to a beige gray and he saw me painting it and thought I was painting over the beige/gray color and painting it the dark sweet tea color. THAT'S HOW OBLIVIOUS MY HUSBAND IS!

Great Look, IT does look smoushed, the couch doesn't have to be totally on the rug. Move the couch off about half way, and it will open up your space, and still have room to walk around it.

its Fine Grain by Dunn Edwards. Its a grey/taupe color (depends on the room lighting) or "greyige". : )

Thanks, yeah it looked like it could also be a taupe. I like warm colors but really liking the grey look but am contemplating if I will be comfortable cooling the colors a bit. But even with white and greyigie your home looks warm with accents etc and its giving me some incentive to try!

When you have beautiful things and you guys do, you can move them around and still achieve a comfortable, cohesive, lovely space. I am a symmetry person so on the gallery wall I would have to have the big C in the center with the other objects placed around it. My husband thinks symmetrical is boring. I would suggest moving the back legs of the sofa off the rug just so the children will have a little more space to play.

Ashlyn, I have a question for you regarding Le crueset Dutch ovens. I have been looking to purchase my very first le crueset Dutch oven! I thought I wanted cream, but after seeing the white with the silver top...I'm torn. The cream oven has a black top & I like the silver better. I just ordered the Le crueset 10" skillet in cream and I love the color! I don't know if I should stick to the cream or get the white bc I like the top better. I like having one arrangement for Spring/Summer and another for Autumn/Winter. I suggest switching the big "C" and the Beach sign. Put the "C" on the left- it will anchor the wall. Thank you.

KZbin decoration is beautiful but the re arrange os not good because the sofá is in bad position. You must beber seat with the door behind you. Whey you are on the sofá you must sele directly who enters in the house. Best wishes
