It started in the 1992 Chrildren's Manga where Sonic was a superhero stopping the evil Dr. Robitnik from terrorizing his neighborhood and had an alter ego named "Nicky Parlaouzer" whose girlfriend was named "Eimi Rosu". So you're talking about calling something the Devs wanted to be an integral part of Sonic's Mythos with Amy being the Minnie to Sonic's Mickey "non-cannon". Riiiggghhhttt....... Good Luck with that.

Not even Sonic Boom came close to delivering a scene as great as this fan animated short. Too bad it's not the kind of show to focus on continuity either, so we're likely not going to see any strong romance in the next season. The show will just keep teasing at their relationship, and nothing more, I suppose.
