Ashmore Filly Loo, 2012 Horn Dance

The Abbots Bromley Horn Dance at dusk in Ashmore, the highest village in Dorset. This takes place on the nearsest Friday to the longest day, this was 22-6-12. Historical junior dance side 'Steps in Time' process into the village carrying flaming torches with the White Horse Morris side who then do the Horn Dance at the side of the ancient village dew pond. It's very dark, but you can just make out the morris dancers with their stag antler masks and the Steps in Time dancers holding the flaming torches around them. After this the torches are placed in buckets of sand placed around the pond and everyone holds hands for the final circle dance of the night.
