It’s so gorgeous. I don’t think I could ever get tired of modulars. I can’t wait for mine to arrive. Me and my fiancé ordered so many of the new 2021 sets! 😊 We actually tried to order 2 of the Modular police stations but Lego had a limit on them.

In the Detective’s Office there’s s a story of an illegal cookie manufacturer, so the cookie in the evidence room could be a reference to that.

I plan to start the Diner soon. It was to be my yearly modular last year so that means that this year I will be doing the diner now and in a few months do this years yearly modular which is assembly square that I got for Christmas. Still in my backlog currently with the Vestas wind turbine set.

I think the donut their paper is referring to the modular building set where there was a person sneaking sweets after the mayor passed a law to try to make the city healthier, I guess this was a while back and just imagine if you put together a city with EVERY SINGLE MODULAR BUILDING SET EVER!!! That would be epic!!

I think the cookies hat and pan are a reference to the detectives office because in that set there was a story about illegal ingredients getting smuggled in and used to make illegal cookies and the chef used a pan and hat that exact same hat!which I think is a really cool call back

It's funny how the entire case and its elements are all in the same place, the donut thief sells newspapers with prison behind him and also next to the robbed donut shop, which has the thief's apartment on top of it and the police station is between all of it.

Adding a small story element to each modular is a great idea... as for the modular - I really like it, I just think the interior of the police station looks a bit bare... the detectives board for example, could/should have had printed tile pieces - even if they'd reused the post-it note tile and maybe a map, to make it look more like they've been working on the case.

I don't know why but that veteran cop kind of reminds me of Sean Connery's character from The Untouchables. Have to admit, this set really surprises me, the build looks absolutely glorious I agree they should have included a squad car
