This song as well as the original from Avril show perfectly the problems of society in their years. so aside from this song being about women not needing men and not the other way around this is literally my old girlfriend threatening to do self harm stuff and needing a therapist. like this song sums up how I've noticed women act most of the time in regards to how they treat men and the gender roles men have to assume almost every day. Men are expected to be big and strong all the hecking time like really? Men have to take the entire emotional load and aren't allowed to talk about their feelings otherwise they are seen as needy like this song is saying. The song goes to show how selfish women can be and how little men are actually allowed to do to be accepted by society. When i used to work with women it was always "ohh this is to heavy can you lift it for me?" or "wow you're such a big strong man you should do this for me." like literally toxic women constantly treating men like toys it's seriously pathetic. I felt so empowered when i finally told those girls to do it themselves because i wasnt their maid or butler or whatever and my boss got mad because i was being rude even though he was just blinded by a pair of fat sacks on their chests. So nonetheless i quit my job that day retired in my 20's after becoming a successful engineer and have an amazing boyfriend that doesn't care about gender roles and treats me with nothing but respect. Not to mention we are each others therapists and dont complain because we understand that people go through life and nobody deserves to have to hold it in.

Tbh the original wasn’t misogynistic. It was all about a stuck up girl who let her friends influence her to miss out on love, thinking she is above him in class and etc. I love Ash’s song but as far as seeing this as a part 2, I’m not so sure about it because it would debunk everything Avril foretold in her story. I see this as a stand-alone song rather than a continuous story. But I give this song a 10/10 it’s an amazing adaptation.

Sk8r boi: don't judge a book by its cover and don't reject someone cause your friends say so L8r boi: self love and independent woman anthem. Despite ash saying sk8r boi being for some reason problematic and somewhat misunderstanding the original message this take on it is powerful enough for people to realize you don't need someone to be valid and worth something.
@faithharris71732 жыл бұрын
@dollhausˎ♡ˊ˗ oh I know that. But the thing is for me there is a small misunderstanding. The songs could be taken in any way possible, like for me sk8r Boi is supposed to be a "don't judge a book by its cover" type of story, because who knows what type of person they are. Maybe the supposed 'sk8r boi' could actually be the best person you've ever met and be the love of your life. And anyone else that is deemed a 'good person' just straight up is a sk8r boi. I don't know maybe that's just my brain working weirdly. I like both songs as they are. To be honest I don't really see anything wrong with either of them. Thanks for the clarification though! And my sincerest apologies if this sounds snarky in any way possible, I really don't mean for it to be if it does
