Is this course suitable for beginners? Or is it better to start with "Classical guitar pro vol.1"?

@@daniillandau If you cannot read music and do not have a basic understanding of good technique, it is best to start with Classical guitar pro and then proceed to the no nails course :)

Just Beautiful!!! It can't be said any better than the way Emilio Pujol put it, "The tone of a string struck with a fingertip possesses an intrinsic beauty, which affects the deepest feelings of our sensibility, just as air and light permeate space. It’s notes are incorporeal, as might be the notes of an ideally expressive and responsive harp…this style stands for the transmission, without impurities, of the deepest vibrations of our emotions”. Thank you Sir!

I was introduced to this beautiful piece of music back in 1991 when I was completely drawn in and mesmerized by Ken Burns’ documentary, The Civil War. I was in my early 20s then, and both the documentary and this song have stayed with me ever since, quite deeply and profoundly. I still well up with tears when I hear it.

Same here. I can't ever get through this tune without getting all emotional. It's so weird, it makes me feel sad for all the people who have died in wars, are dying in wars now, and will die in future wars.

Just a quick note from a stranger. I haven't played a musical instrument in 10 years, but before that was in the Marine Corps band. I was so burned out from musical playing that I can't even think about playing again. Watching your videos is stirring that itch in me again. Thank you for the inspiration, and perhaps I will one day be able to play again.

Exactly the same story as me except from the British side. Picked up classical guitar 4 years ago (I'm 54) self taught of course, loads of online resources these days and I'm flying now. Hardest but most enjoyable instrument I've played. Hated music for years after I got out. Will never do music professionally again. Military music was like packing Mars Bars in a factory. Now it's coffee and me time.

Appalachian Old Time musicians are notoriously conservative when it comes to incorporating newly composed tunes into the tradition, but this is one tune that just about everyone agrees ought to be an old song even if it’s not. Jay Unger wrote a civil war lament that never was!
@juliesiefke117319 күн бұрын
Jay Unger actually wrote this about a summer camp. He was musician-in-residence at The Ashokan Center in upstate New York. He wrote it one day after a group of campers had left and the place was empty… except for the echoes and memories of the children. Later Ken Burns found it when he was looking for a theme for his Civil War series, so we associate it with that.
