Here's episode 3. I will get working on Episode 4 soon. They take a while to do because I need to get actors first, etc. If you like Ashridge, give me a thumbs up. I have mentally committed to doing 6 episodes and more if there is sufficient interest. We are only at the beginning!

Tony Walker, I believe I've told you a bit about my background in the Fire Service (30yrs service). Now, I'll tell you my actual involvement (my families) with the Mothman and the Silver Bridge disaster in 1967 at Point Pleasant, Mason County, West Virginia. I currently live and was raised in western Kanawha County, WV, approximately 55 minutes just over an hour from Point Pleasant. In December 1967, I was 6 yo and in first grade. My father (a WWII Combat veteran of the South Pacific Campaign) was a Class A Transmission Lineman and Inspector for Appalachian Power Company. Their crew was clearing right of ways, building towers and stretching high voltage powerlines from Apple Grove, WV to the Phillip Sporns Hydro/Coal Power Plant on the Ohio River. Dad's crew stayed in the old Lowe Hotel in the town of Point Pleasant and were crossing the Silver Bridge numerous times daily, M-F. The collapse of the Silver Bridge occurred around 6/7pm on Friday, December 17, 1967. I was in our living room watching the old black and white TV with one of my older brothers. Mom was fixing supper and we were awaiting my dad to get home after picking up his suitcase for the weekend. I recall the disaster news being shown on WCHS TV 8 Charleston, WV local news channel as an Emergency Broadcast. I ran into our kitchen to tell mom that the Silver Bridge had collapsed. We knew dad would have possibility be crossing that bridge at sometime around the collapse. About 15 minutes after we heard the news, dad pulled his assigned Company owned Dodge Powereagon into the upper driveway. He knew nothing of the collapse, never saw a creature on the bridge while crossing 1 hour and 15 minutes before the disaster. We definitely thanked the Good Lord that night that he'd not been involved. Nor was any of his Appalachian Power Company crew. As a young BSA Scout, we had several camporees at the area known as the TNT area (where the Mothman was to have his hideout) just north of Point Pleasant. In all my years of living 2 counties over from Point Pleasant and my travels to and through that area, ive never really given to much thought or credence to the "Mothman". Honest, the Ohio State Troopers after crossing into Galia County, Ohio were the only monster that intimidated me. Theyd write you a citation for 1 mile over the speed limit! 😂😂

Hi Tony, I absolutely love Ashbridge, please consider doing more than 6. Brilliant rural/folk horror. Only discovered your channel about 5 months ago, but as an avid reader myself, I have over fourteen hundred books, many of them horror and good old fashioned ghost stories, I was delighted to find your podcast. Love the info you provide and your dialogue at the end is wonderfully entertaining. I soon became a member and am frantically catching up on all the older stuff. Listening to someone who loves books as much as I always have is a breath of fresh air. I am 59 and from Lancashire but know Cumbria fairly well so can visualise the areas you read about. Love the fact you can do this full-time now. Just so glad found your channel x

Oh wow! Ashridge again! Fantastic Tony. Thanks for creating this. Bringing in the Lords and Ladies now; brilliant. Somehow I don't think that carrying a horseshoe will suffice for our unwitting protagonists. Better carry some rare earth magnets instead in Ashridge. The Heartwood Institute music is so cleverly devised, and reminds me a little of some of Harvey Robinson's music. I'm being drawn down your rabbit hole Tony, but I don't think that it leads through the looking glass... Or maybe it does... 🖤🐰👽

Omg. That was really creepy. Just the intonation of voices alone was soooo atmospheric. The whole interwoven construct of music and voices juxtaposed against the normalcy in the pub, bookstore, the flat, were all very humdrum... but wait! It doesn't feel normal. It was genius. So difficult to do, to project such outside the lines impressions with a minimum of props, FX, backgrounds all the distracting gore and dazzle of movies. At first I thought the guys at the bridge were sort of stock scifi, 2 dimensional, off the rack weird, androids maybe, though it didn't take long to become subtly otherly. Even before Andy was in the car leaving the bridge I was telling him to "Just go! Stop being polite, just go!" Your performance was creepiness on legs. This medium is relavatory. I'd forgotten how powerful just talking can be and what a spell words can weave. I hope you're very happy. I'm right back in the cave's firelight afraid to take a shower alone. 😮 I suspect Rod and Mel of being in on the deal, for whatever reason, because I think they protested too much. Seemed as though Mel was trying to normalize the abnormal. I smell cahoots. More will be revealed. Thanks a bunch!❤
