Samaneri Jayasāra - Wisdom of the Masters

4 жыл бұрын

Ashtavakra Gita is one of the advaitic masterpieces. One of Sri Ramana Maharshi's most beloved texts. Without mincing matters it comes out with the advaitic truth, the whole truth and nothing but advaita which is the Truth. This book embodies Ashtavakra’s teaching to King Janaka which vouched him Self-Knowledge between the time he placed one foot upon the stirrup of his horse and lifted himself to place the other foot on the other stirrup.
Radhakamal Mukerjee, an Indian social scientist, dated the book to the period immediately after the Hindu scripture Bhagavad Gita (c. 500-400 BC).

Dear Listeners, this recording has some copyrighted music in the video so YT plays ADS to collect revenue for the record company. Sorry about that. There are many ways to overcome this on your end though. You can pay for a KZbin Premium subscription and have no ads appear on any videos. Or you can simply change your browser to Brave Browser - it blocks all ads on all sites. This is the best solution I have found and have installed it on my Android and it works a treat to block ads on all websites. It works on PCs, Androids, and iphone. Here's the link to download and install: brave.com/ The other easy option is to listen to my recordings (and download if you wish) either on my Google Drive or the many Podcast platforms where there are no ads. You can find links to all of these in the top right-hand corner from my Home page on my You Tube channel. Hope you can find some good options. The ads will only appear on those readings where the music is copyrighted and I am trying to avoid this now as much as possible these days. Warm regards

Once we get in contact with the Ashtavakra Gita we don’t need any other book to lead us to liberation, I can hear this audio 1000 times and never get tired of it!

Liberation is already present as here and Now. Time space and existence are an illusion. We have always been liberated. Our mind is the illusion. As Ramana Maharsi says Heart must be purified through Bhakti (Love) for the illusion to go away and truth will appear as it is

@@buzzwordy9951 exactly and inline with previous comment when Krishna says "The indestructible, transcendental living entity is called Brahman, and his eternal nature is called adhyātma, the self." (Bhagavad Gita chapter 8 sloka 3). Thus the mahavakya: Aham Brahmasmi.a clear example of Krishna expressing the highest truth of Vedanta (whether than be advaita, vishisht, etc), thus Krishna is indeed the greatest Vedanta guru in every possible spectrum, fathomable, unfathomable and transcendental of all, simultaneously 😊🕉😊

The PLAY of this world, happens at the background of pure Conscious Awareness. When the play is on ... I play my role as a character in this world, with my own mask (personality) to the best I can, by learning the lessons of Forgiveness and Love. When the play is over ... all that is left is still Pure Conscious Awareness. Hopefully I can wake up to this Truth in this life ... if not ... then in the next.

Dear John, The Avadhuta Gita and Astavakra Gita are probably the most humbling answers to the most important and pivotal query asked in the whole of the Great Bhagavad Gita; Oh my Dear Lord, how am I to understand who I am? Please be merciful and tell me for my existence rests only on this knowledge and surrendered devotional practice. Bhagavad Gita Chapter 8 Ofcourse it is revealed better in Chapter 13 and 15 however Avadhuta Gita and Astavakra Gita explain this clear cut like the sword. We are this to keep the Gita beside both Avadhuta and Astavakra else we may give up this body and no d falsely without performing duties Karmayog within Bhakti. Contemplate this. I wish you the best best upon your spiritual journey. Hari Aum

peace arrives, - no, is felt and manifests, by repeated listening. "As the mind tends to go out turn it inwards then and there. It goes out owing to the habit of looking for happiness outside oneself; but the knowledge that the external objects are not the cause of happiness will keep it in check."

FYI, (to any listeners who don't know already) if you enjoy this gita you may want to look up Ribhu Gita and Avadhut Gita. Of course Bhagavad Gita as well. 😇

So grateful to you for offering this master piece, Samaneri! There's this question (as I'm somewhat new to spirituality): what are "objects of the senses" and why are they to be avoided like poison? What do objects of the senses do to a person? Anyone else could also attempt to explain this question. Much appreciation in advance!
@SamaneriJayasara
@SamaneriJayasara 3 жыл бұрын
Here they are referring to the objects of the five senses of seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, smelling. Eye, ear, tongue, body, nose. The teaching is urging us to not be fooled by the objects nor to be attached and desirous of them as most people in this world are. They keep up bound and trapped and deluded by samsara as we believe ourselves to be the body and dependent on them for our happiness. And in the ultimate truth, that is not what we are so we need to start to investigate and to lose the fascination and clinging to these objects of the senses. I would encourage you not to develop aversion or hatred for them but to merely start to see them for what they are. Magical illusions! Hope that helps. Most of the teachings on this channel will fill in the gaps a lot more for you as you continue to listen. With all good wishes

I'm sure there may be some videos specifically about the subject of your request, I will also just quickly suggest that all of these videos are for just that purpose. I would propose that any one of these videos, if truly heard and put into action, will give the benefit of improving your ability to feel more stable in yourself regardless of your outward situation. We have such a wealth of spiritual material given to us. It's sometimes too easy to seek that next video that will touch us deeply. I am definitely guilty of this sometimes. It's just another form of egoic seeking for the next pleasure. I'm so happy that such a treasury of spiritual insight is available online. But imagine if just one of these videos were available. To the sincere listener, that would be enough. This is just a suggestion. I hope you receive an answer for your question. I just felt it might be good to add this idea for consideration. 😇
