Quick question for any producers. I've recently been making my own beats and I want to sing over them. Luckily I used to play the sax when I was younger so all my stuff is composed properly(in key, in rhythm, etc.) but Ive started trying to learn about mixing my beats. Are there certain traditions R&B has? Like, does the instrumental tend to sound more muffled on verses as opposed to hooks? Does the bass volume tend to rise for the hook? I made full on beats without any lyrics yet and now that I've spend time listening to some songs I know without instrumentals, aI'm starting to think I overproduced my shit and there won't be enough soundpsace left for my voice.
