Lovely dear Akmal. Flute improvisation has actually mellowed down the energy in original Hareep but given it a super soft romantic touch. Very weldone. Enjoyed it thoroughly

Surely, it's quite different in Chitral, yass we just played the beat on dadang damal and improvised with the melody

Beautiful execution. Can you shed more light on the origin, meaning and context behind the tune?
@HunzaFolk4 жыл бұрын
This is called Ashur Jan, It's a Hareep( folk lore ) Just like any other Hareep exclusively related to a certain Clan/Tribe in Hunza. What we have done is , we have kept the rhthym the lore intact & improvised with the melody using different instruments, the result is what you hear !
@haziqasalman55924 жыл бұрын
Hunza Folk I wonder which family/clan it is related to. I thought perhaps the hareep may have been borrowed from Chitral like other tunes since they seem to have a similar version too.
@HunzaFolk4 жыл бұрын
Ashur Jan is related to DeroKutz Family, and yass it's also been borrowed from Chitral like other hareeps, the rhthym on dadang and damal is same yet a lot of melodies including Chitrali and urdu songs are being played on suranae/flute

@@haziqasalman5592 Ashurjankuz is a small family is living in Misgar Gojal, Khudabad Gojal, few in Danyore and Gilgit. It is believed that Muhammad Rafique migrated from Iran to Hunza, He left after some time married to a local woman and then Ashurjan was born on the day of Ashura... Tharakuch made him their brother hence they belong to Diramiting family of Baltit ( Now Karimabad).
