I used to think exactly like that when i was young. When i question, why there is compulsion to fight constantly, and see artifacts on Winston Churchill discussion, i understand that the India Pakistan were divided and fueled in a way with religion so they constantly fight. Only when they fight, can the western powers use Pakistan land to fight against Russia, the only remaining contender. No wonder Pak army always calls for strategic depth when asking for funds. They understand India being a democracy will not be able to allow foreign powers to use its lands as base to fight other countries. But Pakistan isn't the only side we have enemies coming in from. They are there from Free Kashmir, Indian Kashmir, From China, from north east (Naxalites)and so on... too. And I think China is a way bigger threat. Our hate and its usage by some bad politicians is barring our progress. We have so much to do ourselves. We don't have time for such unproductive things.

I hope you know the events of late 1980s were crucial in the making of current mess in Kashmir. Ethnic cleansing did happen and it made the situation worse. I know people to people interaction is the only way things will improve but then why double standards on article 35A? If one is not eligible to live here why and how should one try to feel? Even mizoram had a separate sort of administration initially but there was never a religious colour involved hence it cooled down. I have seen speeches of the likes of geelani. Religion is being used. It is great that everyone doesn't thinks like that.
