Matthew Taylor yeaahhh this is like a pandora box, once you start play you never know where you’ll end up... endless possible combinations.. The app is mostly designed for OEM (manufacturers customisation) but often you have a profile saved with all your settings. If you make a change and everything stops working you just need to go back and load the previous file and it’s all back to normal.

I'm thinking of buying the surron mx but before I do, I just want to know if the bike has good potential for more power down the road if I choose to modify or upgrade it.. Is it hard to upgrade to a more powerful controller? Is it bad for the motor? I know I'll want more power down the line, I just don't want to get stuck with an outdated ebike within a few years. Yeah mate, the controller works with the stock battery, all you have to do is to limit the controller settings, often the person selling the controller already have the settings ready matching the Surron 60v original battery

you probably already checked but. if your motor shaft is getting hot from testing it just on the bench you're probably over reving it. try putting a load on it (putting it back in the bike) and then try. i did the same thing with an rc motor and it took me forever to figure out. keep up the great work!! love the vids

Heeeeeey mate, Adam the guy in this video (www.surronaustralia.com.au) I think he found a supplier who sells the aluminium extrusion but not too sure about the plastic top and bottom ends. Send them an email asking and see how it goes. Also google some Surron forums/groups like Endless Sphere, drop a public question, someone will know where you can get it. In the worst case, find a local metal fabricator and ask them to bend you an aluminium box and fit some thin fibreglass sheets between the pack and the case to insulate. Yeeeeeaaahhh mate!! I know EXACTLY what you’re saying... My next video showing the ASI will be definitely more in depth, explaining the most important settings, the wiring harness and how to order the controller directly from ASI (I see some people struggling to get it from Alan ERT, he’s a really helpful guy but probably just overwhelmed, too many orders to fulfill and support at the same time). Yeah... the bad news is that this video will take at least 1 month to come out... I’ll try to do all in one video but depending how it goes I’ll split in two: wiring & software configuration The good thing about buying directly from ASI is that you have the app password to modify and setting and power levels to your wish. It’s quite full on but yeah, personally I like the option of being able to tune parameters myself (as you probably realised watching my videos) hahahaa =]

That battery looks super nice, safest chemistry out there. :D We have same configuration in Neos kart. Waiting for A boom. I made some fireproofing outside the pack so Neo does not get damaged in worst case scenario. Once you go LIPO you never go back babe! :P

Yeahhh the stock battery + BAC4000 is the perfect weapon... BAC8000 only makes sense with modified battery... The BAC4000 needs to be set to not pass the stock battery max current limits

Yeah you can use it in any other ebike or electric motorcycle, even small electric car. The BAC8000 is a bit too powerful for any motor... I always have to tune it down otherwise we fry the motor in 10-15 minutes (I’ve fried a few motors $$$$)

Yeaaahhh either the ASI BAC4000 or BAC8000 the bigger one will have higher phase amps which is good for acceleration, bigger controller will run cooler and is able to handle higher continuous power as well. If you can spare extra few hundreds get the BAC8000

Strap an alternator on a jack shaft so when you’re riding the trails you can be charging your battery at the same time.

If you add a generator it ads so much resistance/load and becomes a motor/engine brake... it consumes more power to make electricity than having nothing at all. Adam from Aebikes cut a dirtbike fender and made a little bracket, it’s adapted. He also installed a flexible black rubber between the swing arm and the top (under the rear mudguard) where there’s a place to attach a mini registration plate. Stoops mud and gravel going over the rear shocks

That controller BAC8000 is waaaaaay overkill for the Surron motor, we had to tune it down otherwise it would fry the motor in 10 minutes or less Here is the website with more info www.accelerated-systems.com/products/electric-motor-controllers The BAC4000 is more than enough but the BAC8000 fits perfectly same size as the original SURRON controller and runs cooler. The original SURRON battery power is limited by the maximum current the BMS can handle which is somewhere around 120/150A. So lowering the BAC controller power you can keep using the same battery and motor pumping a LOT more POWEEEEEERRR

I think we recorded GPS speed 112kmh but it all depends on gearing, you could gear taller reducing the acceleration and increasing top speed but that feels really fast in an off-road smallish bike =]
