ASI Transport Show 2022, Rimini - Raduno Camion, Autobus & Camper Storici - Iveco, Fiat, OM, Lancia

With great pleasure, I went to the 2022 edition of the ASI Transport Show; the last one was held in 2018. This is the largest Italian gathering organized by the Italian Historical Automotoclub dedicated to vehicles such as trucks, buses, vans and campers that have reached the age and status to be considered vehicles of historical and collectable interest. The video you see refers to the first of the two days; we are in the external area of ​​the National Motorcycle Museum in Rimini, the starting point for this edition. As you know by now, in addition to being passionate about engines in general, I always have had a particular interest in trucks, so I have not missed the opportunity to see many of them with a glorious past. I must say it was worth it. Over 50 vehicles showed up at the appointment, many Fiat 690N1/N2/N3, several OMs including the small Leoncino and Tigrotto, very interesting and rare Lancias such as the Esagamma, Esatau, 3Ro trucks and a Jolly van. I would say the 1947 Alfa Romeo 430 is more unique than rare. The vintage buses and campers are also beautiful. Above all, the 1966 OM Tigrotto M3L and the 1958 self-built Alfa Romeo Romeo 2. In the evening, all vehicles formed a beautiful column in the direction of the San Marino Republic. A special greeting to the great ‪@marvintour‬, who was also present that day. In my opinion, his video channel is the most beautiful in Italy. It's dedicated to this type of vehicle, where the story of each truck is told and the owners who keep them over time. Con molto piacere sono andato all'edizione 2022 dell'ASI Transport Show, l'ultima si era tenuta nel 2018. Si tratta del più grande raduno italiano organizzato dall'Automotoclub Storico Italiano dedicato a veicoli quali camion, autobus, furgoni e camper che hanno raggiunto l'età e lo status per essere considerati veicoli di interesse storico e collezionistico. Il video che vedete si riferisce alla prima delle due giornate; ci troviamo nell'area esterna del Museo del Motociclo di Rimini, punto di titrovo per questa edizione. Come oramai sapete, oltre ad essere appassionato di motori in generale ho sempre un'occhio di riguardo per i camion e l'occasione di vederne tanti con un passato glorioso alle spalle non me la sono fatta sfuggire. Deve dire che ne è valsa la pena. Oltre 50 veicoli si sono presentati all'appuntamento, tanti Fiat 690N1/N2/N3, diversi OM compresi i piccoli Leoncino e Tigrotto, interessantissi e rari Lancia come i camion Esagamma, Esatau, 3Ro ed un furgone Jolly. Direi più unico che raro l'Alfa Romeo 430 del 1947. Belli anche gli autobus d'epoca ed i camper, due su tutti l'OM Tigrotto M3L del 1966 e l'autocostruito Alfa Romeo Romeo 2 del 1958. Nel pomeriggio i veicoli hanno formato una bella colonna in direzione della Repubblica di San Marino. Un saluto speciale al grande ‪@marvintour‬ anche lui presente quel giorno. Il suo canale video a mio avviso è il più bello in Italia dedicato a questa tipologia di veicoli dove si raccontano non solo i mezzi ma anche la loro storia ed i proprietari che li custodiscono nel tempo. Che nostalgia , quando alla sera dopo aver finito di lavorare e si andava a mangiare a Binasco con tutti quei 690 e Rimorchio ed il nostro , il mitico 682 e Rimorchio e giù al Timone con mio Padre che per me era un Dio , per i Giovi e la Serravalle e poi tutta la Liguria fino a casa , a Sanremo, dove si arrivava quasi al mattino....Che Nostalgia

J'adore les camions italiens anciens... mon père avais quatre versions différents. Le 650E1, le 619N, le 643N et le 693 T tous des camions trés solides et une mécanique très simple.

Eide en Fiat 643 N1 fra 1971 til 1973 da den ble byttet i en Mercedes 1619. Jeg kjørte Oslo - Trondheim med 2 akslet slep. Bilen gikk veldig bra.

My oldest Matchbox and children's books growing up featured trucks such as these. In the US all trucks have always looked very different. It is cool to see these running and looking nice. There may be some old truck shows here but I am not aware of any. Trucks here get sold from 1st owners at around 1 million miles and they keep racking them up until they just flat wear out. There are no new flat nosed trucks sold here at all due to safety regulations. Nice old Guzzi, the huge flywheels on those are interesting. Would love to ride one

Fortunately, in Italy and throughout Europe, we have a great culture of vintage vehicles, especially regarding conservation. If they are restored, they must be reported as having left the factory. As you can see, these Trucks are perfect. I wanted to ask you why in the United States, you have almost exclusively vehicles with a long nose. I remember that in the 70s and 80s in your country, even those with flat noses were widespread; I'm thinking of the Fords and Macks. What security reasons led to their extinction?

@@Italiansupercarvideo In highway crashes the driver beats most of the rest of the truck to the scene of the accident after initial impact. Test crashes look absolutely gruesome. Long noses give a little cushion between drivers and whatever they hit. Fuel efficiency is also a concern. Most big trucks run the interstate highways in excess of 80 mph, sun, snow, rain, or dark.

@@upsidedowndog1256 Indeed when the lorry collides with something, even another truck in a column, the short cab gives little chance of life, and the lorry driver finds himself crushed. I admit that the long nose is a barrier in front of the driver. It remains to be understood if the front motors can enter the cabin or slide under it. In European trucks, the engine is in the cab below the driver. I think the spread of trucks with long noses in Europe is minimal due to space. Here we have tiny roads and towns, and often even a European-sized truck finds it hard to move and manoeuvre. If they had a front cabin longer than 1 meter or 2, it would be a massive problem for our drivers.

Che bel raduno! Tanti tanti mezzi interessanti. Fa strano vedere 170, 190, 343 che quando ero piccolo erano abbastanza moderni, ora fare bella mostra in questo raduno. Sto diventando vecchio...

Eh, allora siamo in due perchè anche io quando ero piccolo giocavo attorno a camion come i Fiat 170 e 180 e man mano che sono cresciuto ho iniziato a vedere i vari Iveco 190 in ogni potenza. Stavo riflettendo che anche la variegana serie dei 690 che da bambino li catalogavo solo come camion "vecchi" oggi li riguardo sotto altra luce e trovo siano splendidi, proprio a livello di design.
