Most of the pitches in Srilanka heavily favour the team batting first. In the second innings, the pitch slows down very much and starts spinning so much that batting becomes tough and chasing just 225- 230 becomes very difficult. In some cases, even surviving on the pitch becomes tough as a batsman, let alone scoring runs. Its like a lottery. Win the toss, bat first. Make 220 - 230 and win the game. If this match was played on an Indian pitch or even on a Srilankan wicket that remained the same throughout the match, India would have comfortably chased the target.

Last time I check the last asian country to won a test series in England is Sri Lanka in 2014 and Only Asian team to win a test series in south Africa is Sri Lanka in 2018 right ?. We remember Australia for there dominance in 1999-2007 is because they won three worldcups. South Africa dominated in the bilateral series between 2009-2015 if i remember correctly they didn't lose a single test series overseas in that period. But no one remember their dominance that much because they didn't win what matter. Same for India in period of 2015 - 2021.
