Meanwhile in the Philippines we continue in importing rice from other south east asian countries since some of our corrupt government officials earn more with imported rice & rice smuggling. Farmers in our country quit rice farming due to unfair local market prices and the lack of government support & initiative. I feel so worried since the food security in our country relies too much in food importation.

Although I am European and not Asian, I think rice is one of the best tasting carbohydrates available. I love wheat (for bread and pasta), but after that my favorite is rice. Rice tastes much better than potatoes, corn, millet, barley, sago, cassava, sweet potatoes or sorghum. India, Thailand, Japan all have excellent rice. 😚

Grains are unfit and are not evolutionary appropriate human foods. The use of grains stems from the start of civilization and the extinction of the large fatty ice age animals. Humans are essential carnivores with absolutely NO essential dietary requirements for any carbohydrates.

we can still feed plenty of people. As a person who works in the logistics business more than 25% of wheat and rice goes to waste in India because of poor management. If we can improve that it would increase the amount of food for people.

it's true so many food goes to dumpsites. Tons of food from restos and hotels. Than gazillions of pull out foods from groceeries and stores. There's also tons of food waste from wetmarkets, and than the donations sometimes gets wasted coz they keep it in the storage and it expires and gets bad. Like the vaccines of tb they watsed millions of it coz they don't like to give it to people, they require them to drop by everyday for a little bit, but they are far away and it will cost lots of transportation if they keep coming back to centers, they are sick so it is also tiring, even the covid vaccines millions got wasted because if you ask they say it is only for with commorbidity. The government is just so stupid here in philippines. And stores are stupid and vendors and all of them sellers are stupids. They don't like small profit the want big but in the end it goes to waste. There is no shortage of food but just people that hoards them, or people that sells for price hike, and government that keeps taxing up more. It's funny when they hoard the mask and face shields, now pandemic is down who wants that lols. The face mask can still be sold to hospitals but the face shieled will be useless so they should eat all of it, they are very greedy.

Even the second hand used clothes donated by other countries, they sell it. They turn everything into business. we also have poor system of distribution. There's so many middle man, 5x of middle and mark up will go higher and higher. They think that the more store the better, but nope. It's better if there is only one big store in each location. Because if there are plenty of stores and warehouses, they keep transferring from person to person and they keep marking up. There are also second hand furnitures from USA that are garbages already they also sell it here but it's just donations. Toys etc kids cribs and all are sold but it's suppose to be a donation.

@@meilih2030 While the idea of having one single store is Ideal it's not much realistic as If a single entity has control over the whole market it can price products for whatever amount it wants and you will have to pay for it. The government-owned stores wouldn't work either as corruption is a significant issue.
@meilih2030
@meilih2030 Жыл бұрын
@@thedevil3179 nope one huge store can employ everyone than the price will be monitored by governement. You cannot price hike since there is a limit to prices especially food. The government should check on it all the time. It needs to pass the insfections of course. It's better that way so that there is not much transfering and reselling and marking up. It also avoids waste. If there are many stores they can't sell their goods and it goes to waste. Factory makes more since there are so many warehouse ordering. The warehouse sells it and pulls out the expired. If there are not much warehouse they can better monitor how much is needed. It is also easier for government to check and monitor one business rather than too many.

Our production quantity is not the problem. We are still wasting over 30% of what is produced. It is really the price of food that will kill people. Lower production will increase retail prices which contributes to starvation of the marginalized and eventually, social unrest. Excess production keeps prices artificially low... once excesses run out, prices will reflect the true cost of the food.

@@satyayana1399 I’m Vietnamese, I don’t want to write this but yesterday I saw video by black afrikan channel & its make me angry 😡 so today with this videos & these comments I think I need writing something. IM NOT FARMERS OR NOT EVEN 1 DAY PUT MY HANDS TO DO HARD JOBS TO GROWING ANY FOODS . But as Vietnamese - one of biggest countries growing & exports largest rice in the world, I know what I’m talking about Rice have alots varieties types but mostly easy & popular types growing short time in 3-3,5months (depend on seeding, weather, water & soils, the sun, how much the farms take care it as well). So before we only growing 2 season per years & let 1 season so the land soils can relax for the next season. But many many years ago till now, OUR GORVEMENT ALWAYS TEACH & PRAISE FARMERS GROWING 3 season a years nonstop. You know for what? Our gorvement teach & praise rice famers is HERO, because if they’re growing full 3 season nonstop - its not only feeding ourself but we can feeding the whole countries who can’t growing rice - to help avoid FOODS CRISIS!! Many farmers WANT GROWING RICE 2 SEASON/year, so they can have 1 season to relax - using free times to growing others stuff (like veggies, fruits - it sales better prices) But in many years Gorvement pushing them like this, alots of innocent rural villagers farming - as whole life farmers, they think they should follow gorvement because growing rice not for themselves but feeding thoundsand poor ppl in… AFRIKA. Of course we’re growing rice & exports sale it, our country earn moneys. But for many years we sale rice at very affordable good prices - special for many Afrika countries Our Gorvement also send Rice professional & experience rice farmers come to many Africa countries to teach & share experience agriculture for their farmers. Now, some Afrika countries can growing rice like Tanzania,etc.. and there are many Arikan ppl angry because they can buy rice from their neighbors, why must buy from Vietnam. They act like we put a guns in their head force them by rice. And not remember in the past, we send tones of rice to help them as humanity charity even at that times Vietnam is damm poor back in 90-2000s. And Gorvement control rice price at very affordable price. In recent years, many farmers want growing different rice type - fragrance & soft rice but its take 4-4,5 month to full grown to harvest. Sales at higher price exports for Korea, Japan & some Euros countries. But because Vietnam signed a paper contract food crisis for many years till now so gorvement still asking farmers should not stop farming rice. Nowadays alots of farmers don’t want to be farmers because their hard work after all sales rice in low price just in the name - feed the whole world & avoid rice crisis. Nowadays many investment come to Vietnam, younger generations from farmers family don’t want growing rice, they’re rather go to cities to working in companies, manufacturers & services jobs And younger farmers don’t like growing rice because it very hard-labour jobs, they can grow fish farm, shrimp farms,etc.. for locals & exports as well. That’s why it also decreased lost rice farmers in Vietnam as well.

@@satyayana1399 South Vietnam use to be bless by Earth, they’re not facing any bad weather or storms - the lands soils resources is so rich to growing all types of foods, rice veggies & fruits all time in years Second reason is, China building almost 30 HYDROWATER DAM IN CAMBODIA & LAOS, they’re control the water in Mekong River so it creasing water crisis to growing rice. If you’re interested you can checking this “China huge dam project threaten Vietnam & Southeast Asia drying up Mekong delta river” It’s biggest 3 reason why vietnam in recent year also drop rice harvest as I mention 1) cheap price, because it controls price & also have leftovers rice to export for others country who cant growing rice 2) farmer’s kid - as younger generation dont wants to become rice farmers, rather working others job 3) waters crisis In many years later, if Vietnam don’t farming rice to export anymore. I think it can causes price a bit as well Because it only depends on India, Thai, Cambodia, Laos

These are only a few reasons which can be fixed easly yet no1 cares. Its all about keeping old habits alive even ,if they are not viable anymore. Why is there still no large scale push to educate people on diffrent forms of farming so that people can change there methods of farming based on their area and not on the mono culture crops?

Biggest problem developing nation face in coming 10 years is sortage of future farmer. Most these farmers are getting old. Sons and daughters of these farmers nolonger want to work in the industry, due to out dated farming practices, technologies and no garaty income. Asian farmers need to mordenise the way it farms. Government of these countries, need to step in and help mordenise farming to attract young people to the industry, if they are concern its countrie's future food security.

let it happen, we rice eating asians should turn to wheat or other crops . Rice is making us sluggish, weak and even sick. Look at bread eating part of the world, people are stronger and agile and healthier.
