I had an encounter with the doll when I was in secondary school. that same doll actually appeared on the side of the road in Northpoint, Yishun. At the time the doll hadn’t went viral yet. Me and a friend saw it and got curious because amongst everything the doll actually stood out. We approached it and my friend wanted to touch it but I saw the Rajah around its eyes and immediately told my friend to not touch it. Not to mention when we begin approaching I can’t help but to feel something really negative emitting from it. A few days later the news of the doll appearing in Hougang started circulating. Another creepy thing is that when we begin to move away, I decided to look at it once more only to see that the doll is gone

About the Gumantong, i'm Thai and I probably said this story before. My parents moved into the current house we have like ten years ago. Within 2 weeks, he heard the sound of children playing on the roof. The neighbour came the next day and apologised because he said it was his Gumantong causing the disturbances (apparently they wanted to play). So I believe they're real. Honestly very adorable. They bring good fortune if you treat them right (which you should). My family doesn't have one but my grandma's house does, and my little cousins are always calling the Gumantong brother

the terracotta army curse made sense Apparently Hegemon King Xiang Yu, a infamous warlord leader of Chu, and one of the major rebels against the Qin Dynasty was the reason why the terracotta army was in fragments, and many weapons missing. Guy hated the Qin so much, he raided the tomb and looted it. Years later he got rekt by Liu Bang, his former oathsworn brother, who later ends up reuniting post Qin China and becomes emperor Han Gaozhu, founder of one of the greatest empire in history, the Han Dynasty, a Dynasty that rivaled Rome in scale and granduer
@Kburn19854 ай бұрын
Xiang Yu got owned because he was too cruel to his enemies, even the living ones. He buried 200k men alive, boiled people who offended him alive and even his allies were scared to look at him. Also, Liu bang was always a rival, and he had a few chances to kill him which he missed, including the infamous feast at Hong gate. He constantly ignored advice and was vain. If anything, he's blessed to have lived as long as he did.

For Okiku the doll, I have a feeling that the hair grows similarly to a lichen called ‘Black Tree Lichen’/ ‘Bryoria Fremontii’, commonly found in North America, Northen Europe and Asia (China, Japan and Russia) This organism can live for decades and centuries (they are long-lived organisms and their lifespan remains undetermined). However, they are environmentally sensitive. My theory of Okiku the doll is that the hair is not actual hair, but a lichen instead. Perhaps the original owner is exposed to Bryoria Fremontii and use the science of growing the lichen on the doll to give it a sense of realism, preceding most dolls of its time. Compare it to that of a Chia Pet that grows on furnitures and figurines that trended a few years ago. Again, this is just my speculation.

My family did have a gu man thong, when we went out to eat we would often order a take away so that we could offer to the gu man thong back home, when I was an infant i was sleeping in a baby hammock, but the line snap, I fell to the ground, my parents were shocked and rush to the scene only to find out I am still sleeping and unharmed, they believe it's the gu manthong that save me, growing up, when it was night after 11pm , when I tried to sleep, I would often hear footstep all over the house , one time at night when I go down stairs to drink water, a plastic beg fill with air was suddenly squashed from the middle right in front of my eye as if something or someone step on it
@BorneoMan-n5k4 ай бұрын
I have a fun fact for tomanthong (idk how it is spelled so correct me if I'm wrong).I don't know if tomanthong and gu man thong are the same thing or not but here is the fact that I know. Tomanthong is almost the same thing as gu man thong but how they're made is probably not.They said that the spirit that lives inside the "vessel"/the same thing like the one that you find for gu man thong is found typically outside of Buddhist temple. They're there so that they can avoid most of the dangers in their realm(the stronger spirit that will harm them).So even though they will get harmed by sitting beside the Buddhist temple, it is often said to be better for them to receive a lower amount of pain/harm. So the monks that find these spirits, will usually take these spirits for them to be put in a "vessel". They're not forced but instead will be given options for them to live inside the "vessel" Another fun facts The people that have opened their "third eye" and have tomanthong Inside their house will always feel, see and hear these spirits.

Regarding the Gu Man Thong: I am Thai and live in Germany. My mother has a shrine at home and there is a Gu Man Thong there. We regularly give him water and something to eat. Once we had a lot of bad luck and we wondered what was going on and when we looked at the shrine again we noticed that the water glass was empty. After we brought him new water the bad luck disappeared again and good luck came back into our lives. Since then we have regularly checked whether he has enough to eat and drink.

The first one sounds off to me. Ya know there's a difference story of a boy who could see ghosts. He was a Muslim and Muslims believe we can't see ghosts and holy beings as we have this thing blocking us from seeing them (dunno what the name is in English). But some people are born without it. So some people can see it. The boy we are talking about had his story documented and identity hidden. He basically told everyone that the Quranic verses are meant to be read and say out loud. You know those bug Islamic verses that people frame and out on the walls? The boy told everyone it was useless. As the ghosts hangs around and sat on the fram when the boys parents hanged it up in their home thinking it'll scare away ghosts and jinns.
@hawax58284 ай бұрын
In islam we believe jinns aren’t allowed to communicate with us but indeed some djinss don’t obbey Allah swt and make contact with us. They boy is right. The arabic verses hanged as decor in houses is worthless + it’s discouraged by manhadj salafiya because nobody actually reads it.
@johnkratus28 күн бұрын

I have story potentially about Gu Man Tong from my friend who is a paramedic. One night, he got a case to attend to near Chinatown at around 10pm - 12am. When he reached together with his 2 other colleagues, it is obvious which unit it was as the gate was opened. He was calling out to the house owner requesting to enter the house but there was no reply. He was about to enter then he realised 2 of his other colleagues were chanting which he found it puzzling. The living room was dark but the kitchen was brightly lit so he went straight to the kitchen to find an elderly lady lying on the floor conscious. He was looking around to see if there is anyone but there isnt, the elderly woman appeared to be living alone. While leaving the house to the hospital, he saw in the living room around the area where the television was, there were many figurines in different sizes placed around it and surrounded with sweets and drinks. He have many questions but little answer as the elderly didnt talk much. Back at the station doing his report, he checked with the call handler to find out more, only to know that the caller reporting this was coming from a Chinese speaking young man.

8:22 if you want a scientific explanation for the death of the farmers who discovered the terracotta army is because of the closed space over time the closed space can get poisonous because of toxic air .8:07 and as you just said that you read the theory of human diseases it's the same thing the people who went inside the pyramid died because of the closed space because the air inside the pyramid was toxic even if you go inside a cave which has a very narrow opening you should light fire in it before going inside the fire will help in purifying the air .(I HOPE THIS HELPED THOSE PEOPLE WHO WERE CONFUSED ABOUT THE DEATH OF THE FARMERS)

Ya… rumors told that certain restaurants that worshiping Gu Man Thong, it will served really tasty food and always have returning customers, but when you ordered and take away, it doesn’t taste the same anymore. Some might say it’s just because it is take away, but it is like really far different.
@nizammahmadi29634 ай бұрын
@@jingstitch7611 In Malay, this is called 'pelaris' which means amulet to attract more customers or business. In this case the restaurants surely went to Thailand to own this Gu Man Thong. Similarly this thing happened in Indian restaurants as well. You can see those weird golden thingy with writings inside a picture frame and hung at the cashier's. Yes, one of the signs of these kind of restaurants is that the taste of the take away food is worse than the same ones but dine-in. Muslims believe that these are the works of demonic spirits that the restaurants worshipped. It could be licking the plates or shitting on your food to make it taste better while in truth is that you're probably eating yesterday food that were on the verge of spoiling. That is the reason take away food from these kind of restaurants taste different and quickly spoiled. So if you experienced this kind of situation, just don't come to that restaurant again. Oh forgot to tell you, these kind of restaurants also might mix something dirty inside your food so be careful.

Supernatural Confessions unpacked the backstory of the doll. I believe Eugene reached out to the original owners of the doll and covered their story in his podcast. If I recall correctly, the doll belonged to a Malay lady who loves collecting dolls. It was a gift from her partner. However, upon receiving the doll, she’s been encountering weird experiences with it - the doll moving, speaking on its own and throwing itself across the room. It led to her disowning the doll. I honestly forgot the entire story. I believe one part of it mentioned about burning the doll, but you could listen to the whole confession on the podcast. If I find it, I’ll link it here via edit

You do know that at earlier times, doll's hair are implanted by real human hair and it is known that real hair do continue to grow to some extent even if it's cut off

0:27 is kinda ironic cause you'd say Bismillah if you're scared or something, people use it mostly when they are scared of something or when they drink/eat, it's used for pretty much everything but mostly for when you eat/drink or get scared

Probably that’s why the owner covered its eyes with bismullah so that it wouldn’t find her again

The doll looks like a blindfolded weirdo that got bullied and wrote stuff on her blindfold-
