Fun fact: This husband and wife duo originally wrote this song for Whitney Houston but the record label didn't want her to sing it so they decided to sing it themselves.

I'm so glad they kept it to themselves - and to sing as a duet as a married couple. One of the sweetest love songs of the 80's.

Thanks for reacting to this, I love this song. so nostalgic to me Takes me back to my school days, when times seemed simpler and you didn't have a care in world. Life at that time was all about hanging with your friends and either taking about or chasing girls. Ah the good old days.

I've loved this song since I first heard it. Gets in your head and stays there. Another one you might like is: Giant - I'm a Believer. Just make sure you get the full album version, as the video version cuts off the epic guitar solo in the beginning.

I know what you mean about how it makes you feel.To me, another song that does that is the ballad by Will Young, "Leave Right Now" (live in London 2005).Also "Run" by Leona Lewis. ( Leona Lewis Run live on X Factor )

This song was a hit when I met my wife in England. Then I had to return stateside and Desert Storm started. We didn't know if we would ever be together again, but after the war, we made it work, got married and today 7/14/2023 is the 33 anniversary of us meeting. Also the song "King of wishful thinking" by Go West after we we separated by the Atlantic ocean.

Great song. Yes, they offered this to Whitney, but it was turned down. They did write 2 hit songs for Whitney, but, Whitney & her management thought it sounded like people would interpret it differently...being Whitney was a "Star"...as "waiting for Whitney`s Star to fall". Which was crazy. It`s just a beautiful song.

This song I recognise from Three Men and a baby. A very funny film. In which batchelors from different walks of life end up having a baby on the doorstep from a woman they cannot recall. So they carry the mantle and all muck in looking after the babe. Steve Guttenburg, Ted Danson and Tom Selleck.
