OMG guys, George Harrison was the lead guitarist in the BEATLES. This song was from his first solo award winning album right after the Beatles broke up. The album was called All Things Must Pass, which is also a great song. He got very philosophical and although raised Catholic he got into the Indian /Hindu religion as well and Indian instruments such as the Sitar. Indian as in from "India". He also formed the group The Travelling Wilburys with many classic early rock musicians, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne . He write & sang the Beatle song "While My Guitar Gently Weeps. You reacted to the cover version of that song.

@@robertcartier5088 Oh you're right technically in the regards to the melody but not the words. George's heart was in the right place with his words. I don't think he used the tune knowing what he did though. He did not read or know how to technically write music and not until I heard it compared did I realize the tune was almost exactly the same as "He's so fine" He lost the lawsuit regarding these tunes for "subconciously plagarizing" the original tune and had to pay a lot of $$$ for it.

George Harris was a member of the Beatles. When the Beatles broke up he went solo and had some wonderful albums. He became deeply apart of the Hindu belief and this song was dedicated to his religious leader at that time. He also was apart of The Traveling Wilburys in the 80's which was a collaboration band with some other famous artists. Love watching you discover awsome song!!.

My parents were born in 1939 and both had a great interest in music so exposed us to music from their era, from their parents era and even further back into the classical music of Beethoven, Brahms, Bach etc. I’m grateful for that cuz I have in my opinion a much greater appreciation for good music in all genres. It’s so cool seeing you doing the same thing. I hope you pass this legacy to your children in turn. You will have given them a great gift. I grew up with the Beatles so George Harrison and his music is something I love. My fav sings by him are Whike My Guitar Gently Weeps and Give Me Love

Such an iconic song. You can clearly hear John singing back up vocals. Clapton on guitar, and o this one track. Ringo is actually playing the drums. Which I could hear his distinctive sound. I had to Google it. As Jim Keltner was the actual studio drummer on the remainder of the album. RIP George Your missed and loved my brother 🙏

Other than George Harrison being one of the all time greats in the history of music, putting aside the fact he was one of the "Fab Four" (the Beatles), he was an amazing song writer as well as an incredibly gifted guitarist and composer. This is one of many songs I and other old bastards who served Her Majesty in both Gulf Wars and Afghanistan used to sing to the youngsters we were in charge of to help them keep their nerve when in a high stress situation, like when engaging an enemy force. We found that singing great songs badly helped steady kids by showing that music can distract them just enough from there fear, even though we were as afraid too. We sang the Beatles, Queen, E.L.O., Earth Wind and Fire, pretty much any one of the great songs we knew the words to. I first discovered how much music helps in high stress situations when my Royal Marine company was in Ethiopia in 1985 during the famine, we listened to Live Aid on the radio in one of the refugee camps. When Queen came on, it was like a switch had been pressed, first the children started to dance with us, dragging us up to join them. That night a few of us cried about how stunned we were at seeing people who were suffering so much, had had the ability to lift up our souls when it was them who were suffering. It was in Ethiopia I first sang "My Sweet Lord" as a kind of prayer to help us watch over and protect the people we were there to help. I sang it for the next 30 years to and for those I was trained to lead and look after when I felt I needed something to hold onto, it's a gift George Harrison gave to so many with the simplicity in the message in the song.

First ex Beatle to have a #1 hit. "My Sweet Lord" Christmas 1970. #1 hit worldwide for weeks. His very first single & album. Elton John heard it in a taxi & was overwhelmed emotionally.

Great reaction to the genius that is George Harrison. "What is Life" is another of his that I hold in high regard. Don't feel bad for not knowing who he was. His personality was definitely overshadowed by the other three Beatles. He is seriously underrated.

Well guys...you see the responses. Going into the modern rock era (after big bop 50's music) Beatles #1, Beatles solo albums Lennon, McCartney, Starr and Harrison #2 and everything else that followed for 60 years #3. If you remember that, you'll never have the backlash again AND, you will have had your modern rock era music lesson for the day. Keep up the great work and Asia, look into the camera more...that was a stunning smile when you looked up.

He was going through The Beatles breaking up. He didn’t really want the song to be released, and was shocked when it went to #1. Bobby Whitlock (Delaney & Bonnie and Friends, Derek and the Dominos) says he and Harrison did all the background vocals because Eric Clapton didn’t show up that day.

A lot of Christians lost their freakin' minds over this song when they realized it wasn't about their god but about an Indian one. Just the same as when John Lennon's Imagine came out. That one still drives them nuts and I love it and that song.

Yes, George was the spiritual aspect of the Beatles. Quiet, reserved, spiritual....like a true Pisces. And though John and Paul were the main songwriters, George ALWAYS hit it out of the park when he wrote Beatles songs. "Something" is a perfect example of that. Doesn't matter that you didn't know who he was (R.I.P),you know who he is now. That's what really matters. Always love watching y'all react to great music and movies! 9:09

Also WHAT IS LIFE and GIVE ME LOVE (GIVE ME PEACE ON EARTH) two other great solo songs of George's.
