His voice is so natural .. he performed at the awards show, wearing shorts, flip flops, holding a red solo cup of beer, and a microphone in the other hand and just belted this shit out.. !! True natural talent.

That’s honestly scary relatable. I lost my step dad (who I considered my actual dad he was more of a dad then my real “father ever was) 2 weeks before thanksgiving 19 and I had moved 8 hours away and didn’t know that after 8 years of being ok his cancer came back aggressive as hell and he was gone less than a month after we found out it was back.

I’m a father of 4 boys… sometimes it’s hard to find songs that edify a fathers relationship with their sons. Country music does this so well. Highly recommend Cole Swindell- You Should Be Here (music video)

This song gets me now a days , my father caught covid and spent a week in the hospital , he was sent home on oxygen , ( he lived in an off grid cabin in the Alaskan country) so I had him stay with me while he recovered ( so he was close to the hospital and his drs and such) he was doing so well , seemed like he was doing good , and then it hit him and he woke me around 4 am and the last thing he said to me was “Laura please help me “ , I’ll never forget the fear in his eyes and panic in his voice , he was gone within 24 hrs , it happened so fast , so incredibly fast , :( loosing a parent is harder then I could have imagined :(

I cannot get through this song. Crying type this. My daddy was a trucker my whole childhood into high school. He was gone a lot and I feel that first verse. I’m not a service member but my husband is and the day we moved from Georgia to Washington state my daddy and I spent 10 solid minutes crying together holding each other on the couch. I was moving that far away pregnant with my first child. And the last verse needs no explanation. Losing him is one of my biggest fears. He actually adopted me when I was less than a year old. He’s everything to me.

Ok, ya made me cry. I raised my baby girl alone, and her and I are like besties. My whole family has died, been murdered, car wrecks, heart attacks.. yada yada.. bottom line, it's been me and her against the world. She is 28 now, and has had a sick momma her whole life. Insulin dependant diabetic, heart attack at 44, But I was the strongest woman everyone would say. Ya do what ya gotta, right. ?? I married 10 years ago, and we moved away from our hometown to his home., so we are really alone here. All our friends are back home. So when I had my second heart attack in 2015, and she was here at the house when it happened, she rushed me to the hospital, and the worst moment in my life was watching her face as they lead me into the heart catch room, alone and scared and wondering if I was gonna die. I just couldn't bare the thought of leaving her alone in this world. I think about that moment every tiime I hear this song, and I have told that girl on a regular basis since the same thing. I may not be here but dammit, I will ALWAYS be here... in your heart and mind. In smells, In memories. Good ones and bad ones.. I will always be here with you. Just look for me. ❤
