The tutorial was over an hour long of giving Arti advise, so I did advise her to get a foundation more closer to her skin tone, although in some Asian cultures they prefer the bride to look lighter. Every culture is different :) x

@ninniekat with each and every client I go over a consultation with them to see what type of makeup they would like, the type of coverage, the style etc. I don't impose on my clients a look that they may not want. I would rather reach a middle ground. Aarti had a beautifully colourful outfit which she wanted to be reflected in her makeup. Different cultures and different races have a preference if what type if makeup they want & expect. This type of makeup is typical for an Arabian/Asian bride

@ninniekat I am also a professional I've been in the makeup industry over 14 years. What you must take into consideration is 1) I am using the makeup which my client has brought with her. 2) I have tried to simplify the makeup for her so that she can recreate it on her wedding day. 3) I normally go through a longer more complicated application process. 4) Aartis Party was going through the night from 8pm to 6am so heavier makeup coverage was needed. My main concern is that Aarti was happy :)

@bobfryfish Yes it was, I advised her to get a shade or two darker, as this one was also on the pink side, she said the lady at the counter told her to get a slightly darker one, but it was her that thought she'd get the Nude shade, so she's made a note to get the other colour :) x

I think this video is great especially for amateur make-up artists too who can see how to meet the needs and wants of the client and find a middle ground like you said and offer your expertise. Many people won't understand why such colours were used if they are not used to the colourful outfits Arabs and Asians typically wear for their weddings. I honestly think you did an amazing job, using her own make-up to show her a look that works that she could re-create!! Excellent job, well done!

I tried the contouring technique u told Aarti n really it worked very well for me n I was so delighted to see the results . I liked her eye makeup alot.it wasnt easy to mix all those shades in such a beautiful way like u did..I do find her foundation bit cakey but like u said the bride wanted to use her OWN make to re-creat the same look on her wedding day so end of the discussion ...FELICITATIONS! EXCELLENT JOB ONCE AGAIN n one more satisfied client lol
