I only stan XG and BTS . . .. while the girls of XG still need more writing credits, they are actually very much involved in the creative process. XG and BTS always bring something different and the level of artistry for these two groups is admirable - BTS is further on the success train ( and yes, they DID pave the way for Kpop and that is a fact!! ) and I only wish the same for XG . . .being in Coachella 2025 is already a big event for them and rightfully so . .. i love xg so much. even after having an explosive 2024, i don't think they're anywhere near their peak yet. i hope they'll play all their cards right and promote more outside of korea after their tour is over because they're truly made to be stars.

What’s with Vogue Korea not using the group name New Jeans and apparently with Ador not being mentioned, if this arrangement was done under ADOR? Instead the suspicious title “special” director (NOT direction) was used to ensure you know who is mentioned?

If you wonder why SM Entertainment and these other kpop companies (the OLD 3) always seem to suppress a group once they look like they are becoming too big? Instead of pushing them to be global superstars? Just look at NWJNS and MHJ. Why would SM, or any other kpop companies, allow a few groups to be big globally when they can have several mediocre groups and make the SAME amount of money? Isn’t that called diversification? Creative potentials and talents? That’s what artists are concerned about. Not CEOs and shareholders.

Aespa is so heavily promoted w/ what seems like such grand budget for all their music/MV compare to other artist. Sure they may not have a world tour yet, but it's not like they weren't doing anything. These girls were always busy and in the news. Them being on your top list is funny to me. They have an incredible year.

To reach global market usually but not always: 1. Promotion in social media. 2. Good song. For long term sucess: 1. Active in social media. 2. Good personality. It will make listener become real fan.

Groups become super popular by starting out with young people most of the time. There are a few exceptions, but even those start in either Disney ( Celine Dion), or in Musicals, ( The entre cast of Hamilton, LOL). Many in the USA are really watching who they let their kids watch and listen to. From Korea, my girls listen to IU, and used to listen to Old pants, that, of course came to a screeching halt for all the reasons. I think as far as Korean artists go, most cultures do not want their daughters thinking it's ok to dress as they do, act the way they do and most important go on horrible diet and think they must be sticks to be attractive. Also, Many girl groups made the mistake of dissing BTS, and so did their companies. Magazines print stories either real or made up to make money. Army started just not reading the crap, the 2 papers you mentioned are blocked on many USA you tube and all social media . We have a east coast ARMY group on FB. and we do not pay attention or click on negative. Girl groups in west no matter where they're from, do not do very well. No idea why. IMHO the main reason why Old Pants is over is the way they handled all this mess AND they made the huge mistake of going after BTS and ARMY. It does seem like interest peaks with this story when anything legal is decided or updated , which IMHO, is the way it should be.

bts- was my gateway drug - most of kpop i listened/liked initially because they were under the same umbrella- and from there other korean artists -as for old shorts and mama roach i paid/pay attention because of bts and in my eyes they have already been replaced - though that whole mess introduced me to your content which is awesome

Riize is fine, just watch their KZbin content and you can clearly see they’re happy introverted boys who love to sing. The weverse live showcased that same introverted personality. They didn’t look despondent, don’t project onto them.

Promotion is important - that is how many Disney stars were born for example. That is a way to debut at the top. You can only buy what you know exists. The better promoted the more sales - even if stuff is not that good like Temu stuff. Mind you that interest has still to be transformed into real fans that buy the more expensive stuff like tickets. You can watch it happening for example with Olivia Rodrigo.

I only appreciate KPOP from KATSEYE. I know BTS and Blackpink from late-night shows, but they didn't interest me before. However, I understand how they were trained and worked hard because of Netflix's Pop Star. Now, I like other Girl Groups and Male Groups, but most are from Hybe because they are promoted well internationally. MEOVV is like Babymonster. It did not interest me after watching their MVs; I think it is like watching Blackpink copycats with minors. I have not seen the other Girl Groups that you mentioned.

When BTS debut, they use direct promotion using social media. Big Hit, their company have only 10 employees when they started.

@@ZareSamo-cn8pr I know they are a global group like VCHA. I said I appreciate KPOP because of them. For me, KPOP is like a niche that few international fans can relate to, especially with a language you can't understand. However, what KPOP stars underwent is relatable even to international fans. I only see two years of training from Pop Star Academy, but how much more for other KPOP idols who trained more than that? It is so wild but admirable.
