Some people are born to break the rules, traditions and myths and Sonu Nigam is one of them. I can never imagine that anyone could even render Yesuji's songs but Sonu left me speechless. I am in shock he sang it so beautifully and that too in front of Yesu Ji himself. The only thing I found missing is 'the base'. Sonu Nigam does not have that 'heavy base' which Yesuji has. But that is something natural Sonu can't do anything with that so he extremely worked hard on gifted voice, training and his expressions and met with expectations. Now, Sonu is considered a true successor of Rafi Sahab without having the 'base' of Rafi Sahab.

This masterpiece was originally chosen to be sang by Rafi Saheb, due to Rafi Saheb and Rajendra Kumar jis great collaborating successes, but Rafi Saheb in that time was busy doing stage in foreign countries. The movie makers and music director were willing to wait for Rafi Saheb to return. However it was Saheb who recommended Yesu das ji name to them, knowing how great Yesu Das ji was as a singer. Rest is history. The song was a bumper hit.
