It seems that there's an overwhelming opinion that we could all use a Benison hug. I agree! There isn't a person on the planet who wouldn't benefit from a Benison hug! The same goes for both Izzys, Jayse, Jaime and Martine. They all seem like such good spirited, kind people but especially Beni. Dude is just amazing! And sometimes, the right hug can just make the world a little brighter.

fun fact missed: kimbap is a variation of sushi that catered to the monks as there was a huge buddhist movement in korea. the options used were veggie friendly as monks are vegans. side dishes called banchan came to creation from buddhist influence as well

I can totally see Benison being a big hugger, he’s such a kind and fun person. Korean culture isn’t big on hugging either. Being from Hawai’i we are big huggers. When you show up and leave a gathering you better hug everyone, especially the elders. I think it’s a great aspect of the culture. Keep on hugging Benny!!!

Me in Montana literally eating elk jerky from the elk burger that we just pulled from our freezer in the garage. Hunting season also just started last weekend and we just finished using all of our huckleberries on our pancakes a couple of weeks ago. If you ever get the chance try huckleberry BBQ sauce. It's the best. Also there's a lot of generational American Norwegians here that make traditional dishes. The stories behind it just aren't passed down.

The brown sauce (Bulldog sauce) is tonkatsu sauce. It is sweet and savory with a worcestershire sauce flavor. In Hawaii, we use this sauce commonly mixed with ketchup or other enhancements as a dipping sauce for chicken katsu. @reactcastofficial Placky, the Hawaiian food you mentioned maybe chicken katsu (not loco moco).

I'm with Joe on the texture thing. Even having had south and east Asian foods most of my life I won't eat certain foods due to the texture. Natto has the added factors of the smell and partially due to the fact that I don't like most fermented foods, except Vegemite.

Joe is so right about Asian cinema. I more recently watched all the Ju-on (The Grudge) movies, and there's a lot of going back and forth in the movies' timeline of events. I really enjoyed all of them because of that, but that's probably because I have a writer's brain. Something that's different narratively I tend to really like.

i mean, unless someone there comes from a middle eastern background.... The Caucasus is a linguistically, culturally and geographically diverse region. The nation states that compose the Caucasus today are the post-Soviet states Georgia (including Adjara and Abkhazia), Azerbaijan (including Nakhchivan), Armenia, and the Russian Federation. With that said, i love these shows.
@kamenwaticlients7 ай бұрын
Exactly. This right here. I have "fun" explaining this to folks when the convo comes up. Most of the people we call Caucasian are in fact not. Its interesting the reason why, for lack of a better term, "white people" are called Caucasian is because the person who coined it had a fetish for Caucasian women and people. He considered them the most beautiful and stuff and highest of the high so therefore "white people" aka Western Europeans and the like had to descend from them because it jived with the brand of elitism and racism at the time. Funny enough true Caucasians weren't really considered "white" till way more recent then folks realize. When the numbers needed to be boosted for the census all of a sudden Mediterranean, true Caucasian, Slavs, and Middle Eastern people got considered "white". The guy who came up that use Caucasian is Christoph Meiners. There was also another guy named Johann Friedrich Blumenbach.

Ochazuke was an after school snack for me, 1970’s. I’m not sure I would have started them off with the ume version, I preferred the plain or even salmon. Benison is so much fun. I just ate natto this morning with hot rice. How did Benny not bring some type of kbbq? I’m a Japanese from Hawai’i, however kbbq would be my favorite food. There is so much more many foods to try, I hope people will try other types of food from Korea and Japan. I try to eat foods from all cultures as much as possible, because you never know what you’re missing out on.

My comment is a 2 parter. 1. I love these episodes because you actually see the reactors be more themselves than be in that React mode. Benni has always been a favorite of mine because he is so confident and in touch with he's more softer side but this ep just showed me again how genuinely wholesome he is! 2. 100% Korean and Japanese movies are next level amazing! I grew up with anime but always watched the dubbed versions. Enjoyed it, it was fun, great. About a year ago I was reading up on monster movies as I have a massive love for cryptids and supernatural. This leads me to find Shin Godzilla. I watched it in Japanese with subtitles and HOOOOOOLY SHIT! It took me to another place! I now have an insane love for Korean & Japanese subbed movies! And sub is so important because it loses so much emotion and punch when it's dubbed! Godzilla Minus One is a great example of this. Some people who watched it dubbed and then subbed on Netflix, and they realized how much gets lost literally in translation. Anyhow, that enough from me on my soap box. Kloveyoubyeeee
