Hua Chenyu composes two songs about Wukong(Monkey King). One is "Great Sage Equal to Heaven(齊天大聖)" composed in 24 hours in "Sound of War(天籟之戰)" Episode 7 in 2016. The other one is "Qi Tian(齊天)" composed for the movie"Wukong(悟空傳)" in 2017. I love both of them. I think you like them, too. ^ v ^

Hi there, actually 齐天 music is composed by 郑楠，who happens to be one of the more talented composers in China too. Not to discredit 花花 cause I'm a big fan of him as well🤗 I agree with you on both songs that 花花 sang were simply spectacular, and he does it live as well! I wonder how can he pull that off as most of his songs lyrics does not repeat. Simply marvelous!

He composed this song for the movie "Wu Kong". It was his original song. Each singer could only sing two of their original songs in Singer2018. The other original song he sang was "I Don't Care" in episode 7. Just add "Eng Sub" at the end of title when you search a song if you would like to know lyrics. Every of his performances were amazing and different. Thanks for your reaction.

After seeing the trailer, he was moved and decided to express the passion and tragic fate of the character. He secluded himself for several days at home and composed the song. Wu Kong is a character in the Chinese classic novel [Journey to the West], who was born out of a stone. He lived in Mount Flower-and-Fruit as the Monkey King before he got into a huge conflict with the Heaven’s Court, which used all kinds of trickery. Yet they cannot capture him. Finally, the Father of Buddhism captured and confined him under a mountain for 500 years. He was finally released by Tang Seng (Tang Dynasty Monk) who was going to the West (India) for Buddhist Sutras. The Buddha designated the Monkey King as a disciple of Tang Seng, and named him Wu Kong. The Buddha gives a golden headband for Wu Kong and a magic spell to Tang Seng. Whenever the magic spell is chanted, Wu Kong will get a huge headache. In this way, Tang Seng can control him. The song opens with an ethereal tone to set the scene high above the earth as if the Monkey King is looking at the whole world questioning his creator. “Fingertips Fingertips” (of Buddha) is repeated twice elastically as a metaphor for the Monkey King’s struggle against the Buddha. Then the softer singing expressed Wu Kong’s doubt and anguish. The explosive Fortissimmo at the end of the first segment depicts the transition from doubt into anger. The ensuing fast rap expressed Wu Kong’s anger due to his cynicism towards the trickery of the Heaven’s Court. The second segment of singing gives more of a sense of longing for peace and his tragic fate, as well as his determination. The last segment of the rap is steep in references to Buddhism: “ One day under the heaven and earth, the stone heart ( of Wu Kong) enters a dilemma of advance or retreat. The so called Nothingness is the wondering at the returning point of where we came from. “Nothingness” is the so called Great Sage of Heaven’s Equal.” Bewilderment sets minds into an “Empty” state as that of a child, i.e. where we came from. Unlike adults, children are more open to fresh and holistic information, and in this sense, it is possible to gain a perspective high above the ground in the state total bewilderment. Consequently, nothingness is the same as “ Heaven’s Equal.” The last burst of Fortissimo is the moment of Enlightenment which gives the climax of the song. Then the song settles with gentle humming which expressed Wu Kong’s total peace with himself. In summary, this song expressed the whole range of emotions that the Monkey King went through: doubts, anger, cynicism, longing, determination, heroism, and the final enlightenment. ​@@shaneapostol6118 nope. hes underrated. he deserves worldwide fame, bigger stages, bigger audience. hes one of the best performers ive ever seen in my life, if u watch his other performances u would understand. hes also one of the most versatile singers ive ever seen. ballad, fast-paced songs, rock, high notes, falsetto, rap, chinese opera etc. he can also write, compose, produce music, plays multiple instruments, has huge stage presence, stage command. he can do it all. he has it all. ive never seen anyone raps as well as s/he can sing. he make art(music). he perform art(music). no one does it like him. no one.

Actually ... He is not overrated. Its not talking about voice , its talking about meaning. If you can speak chinese fluently , you'll understand why he is so famous in china. Although there are many singers are much talented than him , but he is more famous than the others. There are many singers with some kind of perspective, which they care about vocal range , notes and such. Hua chenyu is different. He said The most important points in singing are feelings and charisma. He said without these two points , no matter how good your voices are it will never reach the audience's heart. He is called the 90's generation king now in China . Why ? Because he is uniquely different. Some people may say he is weird , but for chinese , he is talented. Chinese people hope someone can continue their traditional culture which its very rare and hard, because young people these days more into "new" things and forget the old ones. Hua Chenyu , he wrote his own song with deep meaning of lyrics , he mixed the chinese culture with other style . He also said "there are foreigners who maybe watch this , and they're probably won't understand what I'm trying to sing , they don't need to understand , they only need to feel the atmosphere . Isn't beautiful to have a millions of images in 1 song ?" ... And i do speak chinese , he is different . Hope you understand what I'm trying to say here. 😊
