I recently started playing tennis (Oktober 2022) and I already have Asics Gel resolution 8 for hard court, tried using them a couple of times now we switched to clay and found out I could use another set mostly for convenience when switching courts, but found out outsole does make a big difference, Im receiving exactly this colorway of the gel resolution 9 clay today actually :D Very happy with the previous version for hardcourt, no doubt this one also will be good!

I really like and appreciate your clay court shoe reviews. As soon as they drop in price I am going to get this colourway. 👌 It would be really interesting to know how the cheaper Asics shoes (Gel Dedicate, Gel Game and Gel Challenger) compare to the high end and expensive ones.

Hello, I recently started tennis, I'm a beginner and I want to buy sneakers. From what I've seen and experienced, the Asics Revolution 9 are great. I found the Asics Revolution 9 CLAY 30% cheaper than the hard court ones, I'm wondering if buying a CLAY shoe when I only play on the hard court is a good idea. So my question is: would the CLAY model be a better choice because it is cheaper even when I just play and pretend to play in hard court ? Or should I opt for hard court shoes, even though they are more expensive? I chose to ask on this channel because I noticed that there is special attention to these aspects!

If you don’t try to slide or create a lot of friction the clay should be ok they just won’t last as long if you skid or come to hard stops

@@FootDoctorZach Thank you for such a brief response, as a beginner I haven't ventured much into actually sliding yet. But I was afraid that the sole of the CLAY model would have some additional difficulty in traction on the Hard Court, and would wear out too quickly. As you can understand, as the Clay model is cheaper today, I am more inclined to choose this one over the one dedicated to Hard Court. Given your answer I believe my fears are not of much concern in my situation! And so opting for the CLAY version to use in Hard Court is viable! I am having some peroneal tendinitis pain and I am using this exact shoe. Should I get an insole to use along with this shoe?

Thats tough because theres benefits to bracing vs orthotics vs combo in different circumstances depending on level and severity/ if its actually peroneal tendonitis vs tendinosis vs something else completely - id make sure you get an exam and if you need to nail it down further I offer 1-1 consulting as well linked in the description

Never tried ASICS tennis shoes, but really hoping to soon….I just cannot find a pair of solid comfortable tennis shoes these days, I can’t even fit my foot in Nikes or Adidas anymore, seems like looks is more important than functionality 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

to me asics shoes are too firm and narrow especially this gel res line. after lot's of searching i found that the babolat sfx3 and head revolt evo 2.0 are the comfiest for wider feet

@@hegyitaho good to know…and yes, the evo 2.0 are very comfy, I have a black pair and they are nice, but could use a bit more lateral support….but I’ll take comfort over stiffness any day of the week 👍

I tried these on today, well the hard court version, and the upper buckled where my foot flexed. It was more so on my left foot than the right. Has anyone else experienced that?Does the rubber eventually break in and this goes away?
