ASICS S4 for Sub4 Marathon Runners | Only in Japan...for now?

Really appreciate this video because when the S4 was released last year I wasn’t the only sub 4 marathoner wondering why it was a Japanese only release. But having seen this video and realising that it’s very much designed more for traditionally shorter and lighter runners (and with narrower feet) i can now see why it is a Japanese market only release and why it probably wouldn’t be the dream shoe for me on race day. Would still love to see it released in Europe as it sounds like a fun uptempo shoe for sure but for me on race day I’ll probably be best sticking with my Superblasts…. Thanks for that Alex!

I have the Blue S4. Bought it in Japan last year and im loving it especially when i join local races because its a rare shoe outside japan, its hard to find any participant wearing the same shoe as mine. Performance wise, i wore this shoe on all My PR attempts and gladly i was able to achieve my goals with it. Planning to visit Japan again soon so i can get another pair. 😆

@@lessmediocrety98 of Magic Speed 4? Evidence? Rumour is it will use Turbo foam now the Paris use Turbo Plus. If it does it will be very similar.

​@@Fozzee.1970 based on the leaked images of Magic Speed 4, yes it does have FFTurbo however the design language is closer to Metaspeed Paris lineup. The S4 used FFTurbo on top layer and regular flytefoam underneath, let's see if Magic Speed 4 would have full FFTurbo or not.

@@shohibwijaya7904 this. Magic Speed 4 instantly reminded me of the metaspeed sky paris but in green... Hope its going to be a wider plattform though. more forgiving.

I saw one more review of this shoe and it is really intriguing. I hope ASICS bring it to US and Europe. I really like the rubber coverage in the heel area. A lot of shoes are lacking in the lateral heel area. Definitely it could be a pretty good training option and for some it will be a racing shoe.

Endorphin Speed v1/v2 type of shoe: streamlined, slim, no specific stability elements. Magic Speed 3 looks similar actually.

I only use this shoes to run 10K, 5K races, and thresholds. The rolling effect is obvious, and the cushioning and rebound would be perfect if it could be like Superblast.

This shoe is ideal for pronators like me, bcz midsole is more wide than supershoes, and height is like Adizero Adios boost... a super option for marathon! In my experiencie, current supershoes (i.e. all heisght 40mm) produces to me more pronation

Looks like the Magic Speed 4, but with FF Turbo. They are all very similar.

Would need it in larger sizes as well, but as you say, maybe it's not a good shoe for larger people.

Because no need to import and to pay for marketing/logistics etc. when already magic speed and Metaspeed available worldwide.

Is it safe to assume that the carbon plate follows the contour of the two midsole materials? If so, it's similar to the Edge Paris?
