Asilah, Morocco: a Beautiful Atlantic Coast City Just South of Tangier

Asilah is the first stop for many overland travelers arriving at Tangier by ferry from Spain or Italy. It is about an hour drive from Tangier Med Port and offers everything a traveler arriving or leaving Morocco may need.
A great beach, banks, markets, cafes, and good restaurants! If you visit Asilah take time to walk the small alleyways of the old Medina and along the ramparts built over 500 years ago. For decades Asilah has hosted an annual art festival for local, national, and international artists. Many of the art exhibits remain year round and add to the charter of Asilah.
Asilah has two campgrounds that offer full services and are a short walk along the sea to the center of town and old Medina. We planned to stay a few days and found Asilah so comfortable we stayed a week. Enjoy!
