Absolutely stunning show. It's mind bending in the best way possible. I would love to now more about all behind the scenes conversations about the production design and cinematography choices because it seems very well thought out and deliberate. Congratulations! Can't wait to see how the story unfolds! Thanks for this interview!

Yes yes yes Sucharita I cannot explain how happy I am that you are interviewing Asim and also taking Barzakh to a wider audience! It deserves it its such a beautiful, beautiful, piece of art.

Thank you Sucharita for this wonderful interview. It was great to understand the thinking and planning behind the writing. I am very glad Aasim was allowed to write the way he wanted, and wasn't forced to make the show easy to follow. The viewing experience is so much richer and evocative because of this. We still talk about shows like Dark, Mr Robot etc. If these were easy binge watches, then I am sure these shows would have never occupied any space in mind like they actually did. Same with Barzakh. This is a show for ages! It is very unfortunate that despite having so many beautiful, intellectual, deeply philosophical, gut-wrenchingly emotional layers of plots, concepts etc, the only point that has overpowered everything is the LGBTQ aspect. I wish societies finally become mature enough to not deny and demonise a truth and stop making people feel alienated because of it. We all deserve so much better. We all deserve love. My favourite aspects about Barzakh beside the stunning writing is the camera work, the production design and the absolutely stunning performances, especially by Salman Shahid ji. I do hope you get to do your interview with Fawad and we all get to collectively fangirl over him. 🙂 Also, could you please do an interview with Aasim on Churails? That show has SO many layers, so many aspects, so many representations, so many truths that need to be discussed and dissected in details as now people have watched it and have built their perspective about the story. All we now need is the director and writer's perspective. All the pre-release interviews lack this part and hence always feel slightly incomplete. All the best for future. ❤

So glad for this interview Sucharita! The show's really good but I still feel they shouldn't have released it on youtube for the Pakistani audience, more than eyeballs it has received backlash for it's LGBTQ angle which is really sad.

Apart from the controversy this show will generate in Pakistan, i think after watching the 4 episodes, i still couldnt latch on or be interested in the srories being presented. I am not sure, what it is, but at least i couldnt care for where the story of the characters go. The show has some good scenes, and is shot beautifully, and thats the part that keeps bringing me back, its cinematography by Mo Azmi.
@miras15194 ай бұрын
I think so much of this show depends on suspension of disbelief - but in the best way possible. If you can immerse yourself in the show and in its world, there are so many intricacies and nuances. Even though there are some pieces of the show that didn't work for me personally, Barzakh is still a unique and daring work of art. And I only hope that we can support artists like this and help their art reach a wider audience.

We as a Muslims hate Barzakh drama because it's has anti Islam things ...but churail drama was good ,it has some scenes which is unacceptable but it's showed some kind of truth ...but Barzakh is not allowing to show in any platform... Homosexuality is not acceptable in India too ,most of people don't like it ,plus black magic is also v cheap thing
