ASIN - Mga Awitin Ng Bayan Kong Pilipinas (1984)

Let's take a step away from Punk & Metal for a moment and dive into the world of Folk Music! Asin is a Folk band from the Philippines Manila Sound Movement of the 70s who formed in Manila in 1976. They were originally a 3 piece who back in the 80s were pretty much the Led Zeppelin of the Philippines. Today they're just iconic legends who most rock fans from the Philippines love to enjoy!
'Mga Awitin Ng Bayan Kong Pilipinas' is their 1984 album which is composed of cover songs they did in tribute to old Philippines songs. So yes, this album is NOT originally by Asin. I will be uploading every alum by Asin because their music is not readily available online like it should be. More people from around the world need to hear Asin! Yes, I know they're kinda different in comparison to what I generally upload, but in a way.. They're not.
Asin is from the Manila Sound movement from the 70s Philippines which is also known as the "Bright Side of the Martial Law Era", you could say they're similar to CCR and Buffalo Springfield trying to shine some light in when the Vietnam War was painting an ugly picture for the world to see. Asin is a very positive and lifting band who just needs to be heard by more people.
