The incarceration of a 17 year old and eventually sentencing him to death by hanging for stealing an ordinary chicken and an egg without a thorough investigation is shame to Nigeria’s judicial system. What type of punishment had been handed down to killers of thousands of innocent Nigerians by Boko Haram operatives that were captured red handed? Buhari’s administration blindly granted them amnesty! even recruited them into the Nigeria military and were greatly rewarded. What a shame and miscarriage of justice! The judge that handled the case must be dealt with. Big thanks to Oshun State governor Ademola Adeleke for his intervention by granting him the pardon that spared his life from the crime he did not commit. He should be greatly rewarded and compensated for over fourteen years of his life he spent in the jail.
